try this: 1/2 pasteurized hpoo, a shake of verm and pasteurized straw mixed to get the sub light and springy, and/or some coffee, coir, etc. whatever you desire. The key to good copes, concerning substrate at least, is horse poo, and it needs to be old and dried. Wet everything to field capscity.

cool. I can't get the hpoo as quickly as I need it so I am going with layers of colonized substrate and straw, again and again until I have around 4.5-5.5 inches of spawn from the bottom. I have looked at peoples straight straw, it does make a BIG difference in fruit yields and number of pins.
I have only done a 50/50 casing mix with verm, soil, worm casings. That was my first grow and I harvested 22 shrooms. The second flush is just starting to pin through the casing layer(btw I cased again between the First flush and the second, I also patched the casing and poured a bunch of cold water in the pan, the casing sucked it right up.
I also have 3 half pint cakes going as well. i dunked them and now i'm waiting for them to pin. I have to go out of town for a week, I am gonna try to move the FC to a friends house though.

Pan Cyans grow poorly on thick substrates. Try to keep substrate depth to under 2 inches. Horse or cow manure work best. RR

Sorry katfish, none of my Pan Cyan experiments have panned out yet. Mostly due to lack of patience. Hopefully that will change over the next couple of months.
It appears I will be using the mono tub tek to fruit my pans on the next go around.

I've been anxious to check out a Pan Cyan print too! Guess I'll have to check with the sponsors. . .
