I Want to say that these a are gold caps but I've just eaten those, never seen them in the wild.

Species #2

Habitat: Wood - Found on the side of a small hill next to a small fallen tree

Gills: the gills were dark purple

Stem: Dark Purple, very twisty

Cap: Dark Purple

Bruising: No change observed

Species #3

Habitat: Wood - In patches a dune grass

Gills: The gill color was a faded purple

Stem: White to bluish with a slight hint of green, pretty fragile,

Cap: White to bluish, also fragil

Bruising : darker blue

All three of these mushrooms were found yesterday in Astoria/Warrington. It was my first time picking by myself, well almost by myself... I ran into so many dudes with dreds smoking pot. althugh none of them would share any of their shroom knowledge with me, not even what types are out here

1 Cortinarius
2 Laccaria
3 Active Psilocybe, although its atypical and doesn't look much like azurescens. Weird. Well worth taking a print or saving a few dried gills for later examination.

are you sure 3 is active?

take a spore print, if it is a psilocybe, it will be chocolaty purple.

The gills have the appearance of a poor sporulating form of psilocybe. It could be just a sickly azure. A print would be helpful to confirm.

that gills look like are all wet and many of the spores where  wash away , i wonder if the mushroom was facing  the gill so that  rain felt on then ,
but it look more like an active psilocybe than a active pluteus ,
nice find in the natural habitad, .:smirk:

in spite of the non whitish-brownish gills, number 3 can also be an old, decayed, wet and poor-treated Inocybe geophylla or I.geophylla var. lilacina. if this is the case you shouldn't eat it, toxic!

yep, by the bruising only, it could sugest Psilocybe and the gills of the Inocybe are whitish-brownish, nevertheless, I.geophylla var.lilacina sometimes has some lilac tones in the gills. And I think we must face the possibility of the discoloration being due to something external to the mushroom plus its possible bad conservation.
but still, I don't bet more in the Inocybe than the Psilocybe(I bet on Agaricale for now;)), I just said, it can also be...

stay well
