Sense of Community

I realize sometimes in this type of C.R.E.A.M society people seperate themselves from others. We are in classes, seperation from the rich and the poor. The rich don't want to associate themselves with the poor, and the poor continues to struggle to make it rich. Money rules over all, those with it can easily make more. Those without it well, the struggle continues.
That is why I enjoy the internet there is no class, no seperation. People from all over the world are in chat rooms, web boards. All communicating in a certain manner.
In a community we'd all have similar ideas and then those that aren't. I enjoy the shroomery for it's ability to exist as a online community. We all gather here to share our ideas and make friends. We hold gatherings and meet eachother. Even though I have not met a shroomerite i still am friends with many of them. Online relationships can be just as good as a real life relationship. None the less we exist here as a giant community.
Community life in real life would be just the same, just the same differences and just the same similiarties.

There seem to be classes and cliques here, but based solely upon our words instead of our appearance and social status.
But yeah it is much better, imagine if we could all see and hear each other, it would be quite different.

I watched a report on this virtual world program, 'Second Life', a few weeks ago. I haven't tried it, but I think it fits the bill of your expectations. Pretty amazing...

@ Thread - I've always been amazed by the freedom and incredibly vast enormity of the internet. Expression through means of personality, opinion, and beliefs, and almost complete freedom online. I hope it never changes!

no offense to anyone on this board, but if I had to live (directly, close quarters) with even a few random people from this board, I'd probably act out in similar ways as people do in 'real' life; let alone a small town or what have you
then again, I do enjoy being by myself more than with other people, time distribution wise. With this board we can come and go as we please, but in 'real' life we'd always be around each other
