It's starting to get freezing here at night, I have the heat on. but my roomie keeps getting up in the middle of the night and turning it off. pisses me off so bad.
I've him.... 3 times so far to just close the vent in his bedroom if it gets too warm. I'm not going to listen to the "trying to save money" excuse b/c we paid at least $200/month for electric this summer... and one month it was $350. and he kept it COLD in here during the summer.
during the day it still gets a little warm, around 50-60 but night/morning it's fucking cold. and nothing pisses me off more than having to take a shower in a COLD bathroom during the winter.

I keep the thermostat at 65, but that heat doesn't reach my bedroom, which has a separate heater. I sometimes turn that heater on when my comforter isn't enough to keep me warm.

we keep the heat at 62 in the house. Our area has pretty mild winters so the heat isn't really needed until the end of dec. It's also really nice to have gas heat for once since the cost of electric rose in our area. It would be roughly twice as expensive if i had an all electric place like i used to.

I don't know how this is possible but its colder inside my apartment than it is outside right now, I think because my apt. is in the shade. I'm near the breaking point but I leave for work in an hour then I'm gone for the weekend, I think I can make it but that switch on the thermostat is so tempting.

why don't you just fucking move already? seriously. you complain about the guy a lot. a lot a lot. just move.
also, girls always have so much more trouble living with roommates than guys do. certainly there are guys who get a bit annoyed. but every other girl i know that's living with someone else complains about it 24/7.

Technically I don't pay because heating is included in rent for buildings with (I think) over 3 units and the city regulates when the heat has to go on. They usually turn it on around the middle of october and keep it on until the end of April or naybe the beginning of May. It is so fucking hot in here all winter long that we keep the windows open and fans on because the radiators are so hot. We even turned the radiator valves off so they don't go on in our apartment but the whole building is pretty much sweltering, like 75-80 degrees all winter long. Even the old ladies in the building think it's too hot but there's nothing the super can do, I guess--that's just the way these old steam radiators roll.
Unbelievably, my friend lives in a building up the street that is kept even warmer! Like, 80 degrees minimum. I can barely stand being at her place.

My house is on a naturla gas reserve so I get all the free heat I want. My thermostat is set for like 74 in the day and 68 at night.
