Monotub style FAE in non monotub terrarium
    #7641949 - 11/15/07 09:22 PM (16 years, 2 months ago)

So I have this terrarium I made out of a styrofoam cooler. I was wondering if it would work to make it into a monotub of sorts but leave the substrate and casing in the pan and leave the perilite in there. My idea was just to put the 4 holes on the bottom right above the perilite and then 4 more on top to eliminate my need to fan it all the time. I think this would work perfectly fine but I just want to run it by you guys first. Here are the pics of my current setup.

My current setup is almost identical to yours. I just cased two bread pans and threw them in the fruiting chamber. At the beginning I had a lot of trouble with humidity issues...I'm using perlite as a humidification technique. The average humidity was 40%, but with some help of several people I discovered the cause of troubles was the lack of holes in the fc. I put nearly 30 small holes all over the fc and the result was a marked increase in humidity. Your setup seems like it might work.

I am just using perlite as humidification right now too, I put my hygrometer in there from my humidor and it says 99% so that portion seems to working fine atleast.
