Contam during fruiting

So, recently I posted about some contamination regarding what I believed to be fungus gnats. Well, my two other jars are nearing 100% colonization, so in about a week or so, I'll be ready to fruit. My question is, knowing that these things are somewhere in my apartment, how do I avoid them getting into my fruiting chamber? I understand that bacterial contamination isn't something to really worry about at this stage...but bug contamination is a bit different? Would it be alright for me to cover the holes on my chamber with medical tape (I'm using the method described in the mushroomvideos.com [many holes in tupperware])? Should I even worry? I can't find any information on this topic, so I'm hoping someone else has experienced something similar or at least has an idea of how to handle this. Thanks in advance.

Fungus gnats are small, dark, short-lived flies, of the families Sciaridae and Mycetophilidae (order Diptera), whose larvae feed on plant roots or fungi and aid in the decomposition of organic matter. The adults are 2-5 mm long, and are important pollinators, and can also help spread mushroom spores.
They can be controlled by Hypoaspis miles or biological larvicide that kills the gnats in their larval stage. Detergents and the nicotine from tobacco brewed into a toxic tea are used by some people to control fungus gnats.
In houseplants the presence of fungus gnats may indicate overwatering. They may be feeding on roots that have sat in drain water too long and are rotting or may be attracted to fungus growing in saturated top soil. Typically draining the excess water from the plants drain pan and allowing the soil to dry will eliminate them. Fungus gnats are typically harmless to healthy plants, while their presence can be indicative of more serious problems.

i've never heard of this either. but i'm new so go figure. i don't know about mushrooms, but garlic and other strong odorous herbs and spices work well at keeping bugs away from plants. hopefully RR will see your post and save the day.
