Experiments with Oats.

Just wondering how many of you have experimented with Whole Oats and how it went for you?
I've been through the search feature and the subject of using oats as spawn comes up suprisingly very little. Has anyone else experimented with them?
I've got a couple of jars going right now - they're only right at the 48 hour mark. Knocked up with LC and waiting to see results. Until then I was just wondering about anyone elses luck or lack thereof.
I used some "Irish Oatmeal" that i had - 100% wholegrain Steel Cut Oats. The texture seemed good. I loaded them on the dry side to account for the LC and also hoping for quicker colonization.
I think that Oats are the "best" grain for nutrition but i'm wondering if it's not the most difficult grain to get going? What have been your results?

Well after reading through it would seem that the general concensus is that oats aren't the best thing to go with. Oat Flour might just be alright.
I'm surprised that not more people have tried to perfect an Oat Tek you know?
These are the things everyone says in case you were wondering. (I'll just sum it all up to save other's time)
Oats turn mushy, therefore; Rinsing Starches is VERY IMPORTANT, 3-6 hour Soak is enough for oats, never use rolled oats as a substrate, rolled oats have been known to work for some w/PF TEK replacing BRF with rolled oats (extra verm may be needed), Oats Smush together making grow times take longer, EXTRA VERM MAY BE NEEDED.
Mixed Bag with people's results though: Some got more fruit, some less. Fruits tend to be larger and more potent.
Oh and no one seems to stick w/oats so although it may work it may not be for everyone all the time.
Most people only use Oats (and Bran) as nutritional suppliments to their substrates but that's about it.
Okay this thread can die now to be recycled in with the rest of the Oats/Rolled Oats/Oatmeal posts. (It's a shame not more people talk about their success with oats, it's a shame more people don't have success with oats)

Yeah man that seems to be the easiest way to go with oats.
On another note I did see someone mention 12 grain flour showing %40 colonization used in PF Tek within 48 hours! So i'll be giving that a shot since i've got that same bag of 12 grain flour. Talk about a growthsplosion! I'll post pics if there's anything like that happening!
I've been starting new projects every week that way everyday brings more news of new growth and new rott! WOO!
