2008 Presidential Election
    #7629199 - 11/13/07 07:42 AM (16 years, 10 months ago)

I'm sure most people in the U.S. by now have said they we need a new president. Which I totally agree.
Next November I will be voting for the first time....how exciting and patriotic. I don't know who I'm voting for yet, I'll figure it out. Who do you guys have in mind for '08?

Ron Paul has my vote. Google his name, visit his site at RonPaul2008.com, or check out the great videos about him on Youtube.

You may want to consider voting in your states upcoming primary for one of the candidates that you would like to be in the general election in November. If so, check out this link for info about voter registration, party affiliation, and state deadlines and dates: http://www.ronpaul2008.com/primary-and-caucus-information/

If you have an questions, feel free to post them here or send me a private message.

Peace

I'm pretty sure nobody here doesn't know who Ron Paul is.

I dislike all of them, except for Kuccinich. I don't care if he is literally insane. He is the man.

I'd vote for either Ron Paul or Dennis Kucinich, but I'm registered Independent, and my state doesn't have open primaries. So I'll see whatever fuckwads the Republicrats nominate, and if the race is close, I'll probably hold my nose and vote for the Democratic candidate(PLEASE don't let it be Hillary). If it looks like a landslide, I'll probably vote for the Libertarian candidate, or possibly the Green Party candidate, or a write-in vote for Sir Tokes-A-Lot.

Yeah Ron Paul sounds good on our foreign policy but I don't know about eliminating the FBI, CIA, and etc. Although Congress would have to nullify the FBI, CIA, and etc.

If you re-register as a Republican for your states primary you can switch back to an Independent afterwards just in time for the general election. I'm an Independent and that's what I have done and will do after my states primary.

Its all about phasing them out or revolutionizing the positions within the departments because they are corrupt. The new CIA, FBI, etc, would actually work respectively within the bounds of the Bill of Rights, the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence instead of dis-respectively beyond them.

Exactly! It's not like the day Ron Paul is elected the IRS disappears and money is suddenly backed by gold. He couldn't get either of those done in two terms. It's about moving in a different direction. He would be a truly conservative element in the executive branch and a tempering force against the chickenhawking and Big Spending on Bull$hit prevalent today on capital hill

I think voting third party is mainly important as an expression of values. To push against the idea the you'd be "throwing your vote away" on a more fringe candidate. Use your vote to express that not only do the choices suck, but the people's current approach to representative democracy sucks. Vote for who you think deserves your vote! It hardly counts anyway and it's more constructive as a declaration of intent than for what it's worth in a vote tally equating to a suggestion to the electoral college.

Paul has about as much chance of winning as I do. He gets no national media coverage and doesnt run ads thus he will at best end up playing ross Perot and pull enough votes from the far right to ensure a left wing victory. The countrys only hope is with brrack oboma hes not perfect but he is a moderate step in the right direction. Truth be told we as drug users are fucked no matter what so I will see you guys in court and prison

Most professional gambling sites put him anywhere from 11 to 1 all the way up to 6 to 1 odds. (I may have these backwards, I'm not a gambler...) I didn't notice your name up there anywhere. I think he has a much better chance of winning than you do, especially since you aren't even running (as far as I can tell).

That being said, he chances are pretty slim, but improving.
