Why do you wish you could say that? For some reason, I detect some sort of feeling of guilt that you don't. My advice is drop it because guilt sets you in a negative state of mind. Nobody's forced to stay in contact with their parents.

My Mom used to complain bitterly all the time. I could be a bit too harsh with her bewailing that she didn't like getting old, for example.
I held her hand and talked to her while she was dying. I watched her flatline. I called off the code because I knew her cardiac history better than her young physicians.
I wish I could listen to her bitch and moan about anything now. She's been dead since March 1996. I miss my Mom.
Are you feeling me M.T. ?

My mom died a couple years ago.
I don't.
So I guess it's a wash.

Are you calling my dead departed mother a dog? Just let me get me hands on ye.

I never said that. Somebody was using my identity. My Mother was a saint and better than God himself. I pray for her to come back to life every single day and tell me what to do.

Getting back on topic, my mom just pulled one of these on me. She's a bit more justified in her actions as the suffering is always her own, but I think she often has the wrong attitude about it. You can hear when it's coming from her because her voice reflects a slightly overly dramatized weakness and vulnerability. Sometimes I think she does it to get certain things her way, but she gets so caught up in the act she believes it.
I dated a girl who did the same thing as your mother MT.. She would always consider herself the victim of everything to begin with and had no hesitation in constantly vocalizing her plight of others. She surrounded herself with it. But I think she liked the attention of being comforted by others, or having some control over their disposition. And if they defied her, as I did before long, it becomes another thing for her to wallow over - other people's lack of constant and endless empathy.
