yeah, how exactly is a 10 year old a psychonaut? No, as has already been said salvia has a tendency to freak adults and who really understands the experience anyway? Do you really understand the effects? I mean I have ideas, but everyone who does it does and we all seem to have different ideas about it. SO who really, truthfully understands it.

I mean the biggest thing about salvia (and dmt from what I understand) is that the effects and the places they take you are (and feel) very alien. With mushrooms and acid it always at least feels like its part of you. Salvia is really hard to take because it doesn't it just feels terribly bizarre.

Plus a ten year olds brain is not fully developed. Like someone said a dumb 20 year old is still more mature than a 10 year old genius.

Most adults shouldn't do salvia in my opinion and the ten year old is not the perfect tripper for one simple reason. He's ten!

I think maybe your forgetting just how young ten actually is.

i introduced a 16 year old friend of mine to salvia. we both bought a vile of it online, and smoked it together a few times. a few weeks later he told me he'd let some of his other friends try it and described some responses.

a few 15/16yr olds just started laughin and got a bit freaked out.

one 14yr old started running, then fell to the floor and lay there.

one 12yr old just started crying.

i was pretty shocked n obviously i told my friend that he shouldnt be giving salvia to small children, think he just thought it was really funny.

either way i dont think its a good idea to give salvia to small children, but i dont think it would be particularly damaging in the long term. it's possible, but im pretty sure theyd get over it.

I'd pick the 10 year old.

I hate it when people don't think a 10 year old can't be logical. And on TOP of being logical, they know Salvia from top to bottom? If they know all the effects of it, which some people here are neglecting this fact, I wouldn't mind giving one a single hit. Plus, having a big imagination would help be more familiar to the experience, it would seem to me.

Well I'd have to agree with, "Kids shouldn't trip"

I first started tripping when I was a freshman in highschool, and I remember those first trips not only blew my mind and scared the shit out of me, but made me feel extremely depressed for months (probably because going through puberty can cause depression in itself).

Man I just don't know...
I wouldn't give salvia but damn he's 10, he's not going to have that.

The test would be to see how long he can wait.

I gave it to a friend who's 20 and another who's 18 who are just as described here. And it was good.

I still wouldn't give it to the kid. A 10 year old CAN'T be as described because as I've learned from psychology a 10 year old's thought pattern works very differently from someone who's 20.

thats why the question is hypothetical.

why is this fact so hard for people to get their heads around?

No, I would not give salvia to a 10 year old. For reasons already stated, biggest being he is a kid who's growing and mind is growing and very impressionable. It's not a good idea for kids to be interested in drugs at such a young age. You can give it to them like weed brownie if they're sick and they won't know if they're young enough. But kids shouldn't be drinking coffee let alone smoking salvia and useing psychadelic drugs. Whether he's done it or not is irrellevent, he shouldn't do it now.

I don't see any reasonable situation where a person who have to choose between the two.

So my question to everyone who says no to the ten year old kid:

What bad effects would salvia have on a growing brain?

its not a good idea to give anyone salvia. period.

considering the fact that i have seen mental breakdowns on just weed.

i doubt i would give a person who is half the age the most potent hallucinogen i have ever tried.

it would fuck them up for sure.

Negative effects on the brain?

At ten years old a child's brain is still extremely malleable, it's in a state thats easily influenced and changed. Think about how confusing and reality shattering a breakthrough on salvia is.....

The child will most likely have no idea what to think of it, like most people who try salvia. But where for someone of a normal adult age this confusion would just be brushed off, without to much trouble (usually), a ten year old might hang onto that, and dwell on the experience making him very mentally unstable.

This question, albeit hypothetical is still hard to answer. For clarification, what are you wondering? Are you wondering how salvia would affect these indivudal's bodies or minds? In essence, are you asking what would happen if a person who had the mentality of a mature adult, contained within the body of a ten year old consumed salvia? In terms of mental affects, I can see the drug affecting this individual in a manner it would affect you or me... developed, informed and with the right intentions, it seems pretty straightforward what would happen to this person. Reflect upon your saliva experiences if you have any. But in terms of their body, that question is still up in the air because we do not know at length, how salvia and psychedelics affect developing brains.

On the whole, this question is rather impossible on all fronts. Because think of it this way, there is no possible way a ten year old can have the psyche of an adult. A mature psyche results from development over time and life experience. Even though this ten year old may be informed and have the correct intentions, their overall mental state is in no way comparable to that of a 20 year old's, no matter how ignorant a 20 year old can get.

This sort of reminds of me of those child prodigies which you hear about attending university at age 14 or whatever. Sure they are smart enough (maybe even smarter) to function with the rest of the students, in terms of life experience and overall maturity, however, they are still in their early teens going through a way different stage in their life opposed to someone in their twenties. From my point of view this individual will not receive the same type of “college” experience as the rest of the students because in a sense they are isolated and on their own.

From the description of the 20 year old, it sounds like they're doing it just for the hell of it. I'd give it to the 20 year old and watch them cry. Sorry if that sounds harsh, but ignorance makes me angry and anybody who smokes salvia just to get fucked up deserves what comes.

Have both of them write a 10 page essay explaining their current philosophy on life and what the future means to them. No such thing as a free lunch.
