Artists intend their listeners to hear their album as a whole.....it's a piece of work....art.....it has a deeper meaning as ONE.
Especially tool......if you are deleting the songs.....and listening to the "hits"......you can proudly wear that tool shirt.....because you are just that....a tool......
Tool blew up and got so huge, and they aren't really that special......they know they aren't that special....that's why they named themselves tool....so all their fans will proudly say what they are.....
Lateralus as a whole is goddamn amazing....( especially if you rearrange the tracks, look the track listing up online, if you rearrange them and cut the first and last 2 seconds off it flows as one 74 minute song ).
i deleted the songs because they are shitty songs, i listen to tool for the instruments and awesome vocals
not sound effects

you delete songs Tool purposefully have made, whether sound effects or fillers or whatever they may be, and still call yourself a Tool fan?

Do this. Do you smoke weed? Or will you be dosing mushrooms any time soon? I hate to give power to a drug like this, but seriously, dose up on something psychedelic, turn off all the lights, put Lateralus or Aenima on a nice stereo or on an ipod/headphones (this would be the best imo, if you have good stereo headphones), and just let the album play throughout, don't stop it, try to treat the whole album as one experience.
I personally would recommend Lateralus, as there is so much depth to it in my opinion. Aenima is just as good, they are just different. Lateralus speaks more on a universal beauty whereas Aenima is more introspective scary...just my interpretation on the feel of them
So yeah, that's what I would do.

Tool albums aren't meant to be listened to one song at a time, you must listen to the entire album to get the full experience.
