http://www.shroomery.org/forums/files/07-43/345588387-GL_pics_013.jpg
it is simply two 30 gallon tubs the bottem one has water in it and the top one is placed on top of it while in the water there is an aqarium heater to keep the the chamber a constant temperature... I just need to know how to install a light into the lid for fruiting? I have some ideas but im reallynot sure how to go about it.

That's probably an incubator, which isn't needed if you heat your house to normal room temperature. You also don't want to heat fruiting chambers, as it creates too much condensation. The mushroom species commonly grown around here colonizes and fruits very well at a normal room temperature in the mid 70s. RR

Dear xTorches,
Here is the type of 'light lid' I am using.
It is an $8.00 Walmart work light with a nice polished aluminum reflector. The light in installed on the outside of my plexiglass on little stand-offs to keep it from direct contact with the plexi ... (the 6,500K CF is not hot at all) .... the plexiglass is the reg. plexi on my FC.
The light is directed right into the chamber.

Hope this helps.
Rico

RR that is an incubator but u can turn it into a fruiting chamber by using a light lid and simply turning off the heater or int he winter use the heater to keep it around 70 something because its going in my basement during the winter and my garage during the summer... plus there are measures u can take to prevent condensation
Edit: Rico... does the light get too hot? and do u take any measures to prevent condensation and allow for proper air flow?

The CFLs do not get very hot at all ..... besides, the light and reflector are outside the tub ..... mounted on the outside of the plexi and reflected in ....

I use THIS light with that lid. I just place it on top with double sided tape to hold it down
