Found these growig in a bed of wood chunks, Cap-brown with a white stripe around the edge of the cap Stem-white, very fragile,no bruising Gils-cinnamon brown,to purple brown Habitat-patch of wood chunks in yard Location-western PA. I've been seeing these kids going in my neighbors yard and picking these. They look as if theyre poisonous,i hope these kids arent eating these. This mushroom was found in that same patch looks like some kind of Galerina. Cap-orange gills-tan/brown stem-light brown, bruising dark brown Any info would help,i dont want to see kids getting sick or dying when i could of stopped them. Thanks

well most kids are afraid of mushrooms. I think it's almost intinctive, plus i think a lot of parents have told their kids not to eat them or else.
I remember when i was growing up, i saw some mushrooms in my backyard, and my friend told me not to touch them cause they had purple caps and i could die.
Those do look like galerinas to me though. The underside definately. Though it is reminiscent of a marasmius on the bottom.
I second the psathryella. Not sure what species it is either.

I definitely agree with a Pan or Psathyrella on the first one. The top of cap in the second set looks like a Xeromphalina, or maybe a Marasimus as Drewwyann said. But, I also agree that the underside looks quite a bit like a Galerina. Yikes!

What alan said.
The species for #1 is Psathyrella gracilis.
P. gracilis and T. furfuracea are both indicator species for wood-loving Psilocybe, however, Ps. cyanescens and other wood-loving actives are less common in Pennsylvania.
Another one you might stumble across in the same habitat is Stropharia aurantiaca:

More pics of the species pictured in your initial post: Psathyrella gracilis

Tubaria furfuracea

Anything is possible. Try doing a search for that species, and read where people have found them, and check out those areas.
