Those are some beautiful cyans you got photographed....
you should probably harvest that entire patch, then dry them because it will probably fruit a few more times...and the more you can get, the better!

All matter originates and exists only by virtue of a force which brings the particle of an atom to vibration and holds this most minute solar system of the atom together. We must assume behind this force the existence of a conscious and intelligent mind. This mind is the matrix of all matter." --Max Planck

I really wouldn't know anything about American fungus, but is there a possibility that those are in fact Psilocybe subaeruginascens ?

don't think so... the persistent membranous annulus is too distinctive to miss, and these guys have good ole' plain white stems. well. except for the bluing.

temps are fine in la. It is just dry down there but sprinklers work almost as good as rain

Curiously, the description of these on Spore works site is "It is macroscopically similar to Psilocybe azurescens and initially thought to be that species. But it is differentiated by spore size and shape as well as the presence of a persistent annulus (ring). "

exactly...
these shrooms definitely do not have a persistent annulus ring, and therefore are definitely not subaeruginascens. it's harder to tell from these pictures because the conditions have been pretty hot and dry (i went back to the patch yesterday to find the cyans small and shrivelled and the fricosas rotting and cracking ), but when these guys get moisture, their caps are deep brown and wavy. textbook cyanescens.

Nah, the first few photos in the OP are Psilocybe cyanescens and the next few are Psilocybe allenii.
Psilocybe subaeruginascens hasn't been found in North America - I recently got some DNA sequences back from it and it's most closely related to P. ovoideocystidiata - but not that close, only 97% in the ITS gene. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/nuccore/MG984054
