Cyans in LA - The Saga Continues

so i went back to the patch a couple of days ago equipped with fully-charged camera
saw this fella on the way:

so i arrived at the patch. can you spot it? [edit=location pics removed]

the cyans were hiding in the ivy, their neighbours were more out in the open.

here are the current neighbours...some of them have really been bugging me because they have shown blue bruising but i really don't know what they are and and rather wary of them.

i headed over to my friend's house straight afterwards... saw a few cool mushrooms on the way, but this was definitely the best of the bunch. take that, wooden fence!

unfortunately we've had a couple of hot, dry days of late and the cyans are suffering...had to pick some shrivelled shrooms and hope the rest can pull through...
anyway
this weekend marked the first trips from these little guys! my girlfriend and one of my best mates took the honour as i was dropping acid anyways. very potent. i only had a handful fresh from the day's picking and both had mild trips.

[also i met a grower who showed me some pics on his camera phone of some rather massive cubes! we talked and i said i'd send him a sample he can use to try and cultivate these guys]

dude thos other ones are friscosas um I mean lacosas! Those are all ps. Pic the shit out of them. They look like the fibs that we are picking up here in the bay area. Pick them and take more pics.
Damn this makes me think that these friscosas things are being thrown off by the cyans

Approximately where in LA can you find psilocybin mushrooms growing? I didn't think they were anywhere even close to LA.

yes, my friend. LA as in southern california. i mean, check those palm trees out.
to tahoe:
damn! i thought maybe cyanofibrilosa at first, but then they looked too different. i'm really not familiar with fricosa/lacosa, but the bruising was evident in a couple of the samples i took. so thanks a lot for the ID, i will duly "pick the shit out of them"
to subbedhunter:
for real? PM me next time you're in the area... the patch is pretty tiny, but i want to make it more sustainable and i wouldn't begrudge you some spores/mycelium.
and yes, i get the feeling i'm being stared at a bit, but i take my camera (charged or not) and pretend to take pictures for my "photography/botany project" when people get too close.

none of thoes pictures i dont think are P. Cyans.... if you look there are features that relate to other types of psilocybes and distinct it from not being Cyans.... maby cyans but there is to much of a nipple and they are too rounded instead of totaly wavy. GOOD FIND THOUGH

i really think one of the two species here are cyanescens. from these pictures it's harder to tell, because they are a little dry - when they get like that they turn that paler colour and flatten without "waving" like PNW cyans growing with plenty of rain.
i say this because i have collected specimens after rainfall and they have been nice and wavy and as typically cyanescens as you could hope!

the friscosa does tend to throw off mushrooms that look like cyans. This makes a few of us think that it is more closely related to cyans then to fibs. They are also a lot stronger then fibs supposedly are.
I have seen a fricosa patch that was cloned from a friscosa produce a few that looked like cyans.
Great find!!! keep it secret!!! Those friscosas are super adaptive, I said this last year. They are taking over and fruit early in the season and will fruit just about anywhere. AWESOME

wow man thats amazing i used to always read hear that cyanescens would not grow south of the bay area, or any other type of psilocybe ffor that matter. thats a great find tho man!
its crazy because just a few days ago someone posted a find from MAINE and was astonished because i read they didnt gro there either!
psilocybes are taking over!

im not so much under th impression that they are taking over, just that more and more people are out and looking, so finds are being recorded in places that didnt have them recorded previously.
