Experienced Grower has questions on "new" mediums

Howdy y'all. About seven or eight years ago this site gave me the last bit of umph needed to cultivate my own mushrooms. Things were different back then. PF was still around and this site looked quite different. (In some ways I prefer the old, less slick look.)
Anyway, with preparation both physical and spiritual I joined hands with our fungi friends and walked the "hallways of always", (or "hallways of all ways" if you prefer). Due to my experience in the lab I found it quite easy to grow any and all spores I bought from PF. I have many, many successful grows under my belt.
When I had learned all I was capable of learning at that time in my life I shelved mushroomy and waited for the time to come when I would walk those hallways again.
That time has arrived.
All of my tek and my books however, have not arrived with me. A few of my mason jars remain as drinking glasses so some sweet nectar still issues forth from them all this time later.
But beyond the demise of PF and the slickening of The Shroomery other things have changed. And so finally I come to my questions. There are three.
First, does anyone know if The Spore Works is a reliable and trustworthy source of tek and spores?
Second, how does rye berry substrate compare to rice flour for cubensis?
And finally, am I right in thinking I can just order up one of these presterilized bags of substrate - inoculate it and reseal it and then just wait for the mycelium to fully inhabit the substrate. When fully and richly covered then I can carefully remove the bag and let the guys grow in a PF style terrarium?
Thanks in advance every one.

1) Sporeworks is reliable, as are all of the Shroomery Sponsors.
2) Rye works as well as, or (many would say) better than, brown rice flour.
3) That would work. In fact, with those bags you don't even need the terrarium. You can essentially use the bag as the terrarium.

Ziggen, Thanks for the quick reply. I truly appreciate it. I wondered about the bag as a terrarium. I am just dipping back into this and learning all the new tek/ideas.
If I go the bag route (and I probably will) I suppose I will miss the "ritual" of preparing the substrate, tapping a small whole in the lids, packing and casing the jars then sterilizing them. It is a fun ritual. Patience, attention to detail and living in the moment seem to naturally attach themselves to the "procedure". As I recall, I would collect water from various sources and hydrate each cake's substrate with a specific water type, (pelagrino, tap water, my favorite stream etc.) Ahh and the trip to the co-op for the rice and the whirr of my coffee grinder as I ground it up.
Or I can get the bag.
I'll give it a shot. Thanks again.

BTW, kudos to the peeps who run and maintain this website. Your Kung Fu is strong. I like all the slick features and they all seem to work very well with a good grasp of what people want and need. They only thing I didn't like was the overall look. And now, thanks to mojo, I can travel back in time to the good old orange and yellow days. Very well done. While I am quite pleased why am I n o t a t a l l surprised?

You can always buy the empty bags and make the filling yourself.

Rye is so much better than BRF. I've heard good things about spore works, but I will never buy from any vendor but ralphsters.

I recommend both Spore Works and Spores101 for prompt processing of orders and quality of product.

Try the rye. Magash's Rye Tek Spores 101 has had my spores here in under a week, and I'm not exactly in the city. Oh come on, you know you want to get your hands dirty again...
