Jesus sez we can do even greater things
    #7633589 - 11/14/07 01:26 AM (16 years, 2 months ago)

Depending on translation, Jesus states, "All that I have done, you can do and EVEN GREATER!"

This is a powerful line that is often overlooked or distorted by apologists. To this reader it is very clear that he means others who follow The Way can easily dwarf his accomplishments.

The way to worship is not to bow before, and sing songs about, a long-dead man, but to embrace his example of love and compassion.

Empowerment, not groveling.

Living it, not reciting scripture.

Just the irony of your post in general, I wouldn't normally expect a sermon from the bible out of you. It was good though, you should do another.

Perhaps Orgone is tired of wearing the cranky rationalist hat, and wants to try on a new one... one with streamers and sparkles and fun colors! :birthday:

What an enigma. :blueninja:

Jesus or Buddha take your pick. The goal is to stand eye to eye and toe to toe with these guys...not venerate their memory

Another translation is "I am the son of God."

A quote coming from the old testament (in Greek?) translates more accurately to "I am a son of God."

Hallelujah!

Hearing these words though.. how we are capable of being on the same plane as Jesus rather than him being above and beyond. What is it that keeps it just an idea in our heads? To the Bible!

crap i gotta work :\

God wants not man to humble himself

Yea Jesus was tryign to teach us that we are all divine. We are all forever connected with the infinite power that is god, that is all. You can manifest energy at your finger tips, because you have the ability to think and create through thoughts.

It's the law of attraction.

The law of attraction can be easily explained through this process: once we tune our minds into something that we want, we're being more able to detect that particular thing in the multitude of things which are already there.

Ofcourse. Ultimately everthing that we could ever want is already "there". But there is power that extends further than you can see.
