If there is any precautions to contamination. It scares me to think i could eat a deadly contamination. Was wondering if there is contamination, that you can see it on the mushroom itself. I want to make sure there isnt any! deadly contam on th mushrooms. please let me know. I want to eat some but im just scared, you know??

Yes, you can typically see contamination should it occur. However, if you have followed proper procedures you should have minimal problems with contamination and as long as you are not plucking fruits from obviously contaminated cakes, and you are either using them soon after or drying/storing them properly then you should have no problems. Also it should be noted that it is verrry rare for "deadly" levels of contaminate to be on a mushroom that you cultivated at home in a (hopefully) relatively clean environment. If a mushroom was THAT bad for you to eat, I would certainly hope you'd notice lol. (ie: discoloration, bad smell, looks rotten, mold growing, etc... the usual lol (check the contam forums if you want some pictures to compare to if you have any doubt about any of your cakes being contaminated))
Hope this helps a bit! And enjoy the fruits of your labor!

Both of those look great to me - the second one has a bit of condensation inside though my friend had that happen with several of his BRF jars before and had no problems after birthing into the fruiting chamber. Both jars are displaying typical psilocybe mycelial growth, with some good rhizomorphic mycelium getting a hold in there; this is typically a good sign of a more vigorous (colonizing and sometimes fruiting) strain for cubensis.
In short: Once they're fully colonized, birth 'em, keep an eye on 'em, pluck 'em and enjoy!

Awesome! well the main thing i was worried aout was the spores being a deadly mushrom spores cause i dot kno if i could trust the company i got them from....sporebank.com. i dont kno. im a germ freak. i already got a bud who said he would eat'em with me. so whatev'a. so your saying if there is contaminat, i woud be able to see it. or smll ot. sweet. you think it would be a smart idea to gind the mycelium into a larger subtrate? cause wanna get as much profit as poss. heheheh

I've never ordered from sporebank personally... but I can tell you that it would do them no good to sell you spores from a deadly mushroom species... the mycelium you have corresponds to the look and growth characteristics of cubensis mycelium. If you bought psilocybe cubensis, that should absolutely be what you are growing.
On the subject of crumbling up your cakes and adding more substrate and/or casing them... I would say if you're very worried about contamination and don't have a lot of experience (and time/space to devote to having a clean area to work in for the casing procedures) then don't do it. Spawning to bulk will increase yields, but it also is another possible point for contaminates to get in and ruin your healthy mycelium. So if you are worried about that and aren't sure that you can follow the guides on here concerning the subject of bulk/casing then stick with the cakes and I'd suggest you do a "dunk and roll" (type that into the search bar if you don't already know what it is... basically you add a layer of vermiculite to the cake to help it stay more moist and contaminate free, etc)
I plan to dunk/roll my next batch of pf style cakes personally, since there isn't a significant difference in yield between cakes and casings when using the same amount of substrate. (spawning/bulk is a different matter)

if your doing cakes just fruit them as cakes and dunk them for 24 hrs and roll them in vermeculite. if you have the proper fruiting chamber you should get nice results. by the way those cakes look very nice congrats man. and dont worry bout the condensation that always happens.

alright. well i plan on dunkn and rolling. i watched rr's vid's on you tube and am following those steps. this is my first time. i was planning on buying a 10 gal. aquarium adn adding a 2 n. layer of perlite and adding 3/4 in. water. it\f i put cofee grinded mycelium in a case with damp verm and oyster shell in the aquarium, would it be very possible to get contam?? and how much g's dried do yoi hinkk i can get dried, afterduking and roling.??

you dont want standing water in your perlite. and 4-5" of perlite would be ideal

alright. that is the response i was wanting to hear. i read a article on here about an aquarium fruiting chnber and thats what it said was to put a layer of wter in the perlite. i was like thats not what rr said in the vid., heh. but i just dont want to die from eating a coupke of my fresh fruit's, ya know?

yea just follow his vids. by getting a plastic rubbermaid and drilling lots of holes in it and the perlite and you'll have pretty good luck.

If youre already a germ freak, then you are probably being clean enough. If your cakes get contaminated you will know. And when you birth them and they are sitting in your fruiting chamber, they will probably bruise a little, so be prepared to see them form bluish-green spots. It's just bruising. There's tons of pics of bruising on this site.
And as far as getting the most bang for your buck, learn how to case, and learn about bulk spawning. If you get some coco coir and worm castings ,you can spawn to bulk and turn those 1/2 pints into pounds of substrate, yielding enough shrooms to last you MUCH longer than those cakes will by themselves. It's not that hard if you have common sense.
Good luck to you.

haha. but my question is this, is it a good idea to spawn into casing if it ismy first time?

Well, you won't "spawn into casing" you'll just be "casing", but that's just semantics. Why not? Those cakes look healthy enough to me, you'll get more fruits if you case them.

Don't case them just dunk and roll them.
Casing crumbled cakes does not increase flushes.
