Old RPG's

Since I've broken my collar bone I am finding way too much time to play the good ol' games of the Super NES. Just started a new game on Chrono Trigger and Secret of Evermore. Anyone else still get down with these games. I remember playing Final Fantasy 3/6 and Earthbound for countless hours. BTW anyone got a copy of Earthbound they want to give me Just picked up another 40 count of percocet.

I used to love Chrono Trigger, Chrono Cross was great too. Can't say I play them anymore though.
I don't know if you know anything about emulators, but you can play all of these games on your computer if you wanted.

I just can't get enough of all the goofy funny stuff in that game. Never gets old.
Yes I have emulators and all these games, but I also have all these games because I am a video game loser and will never grow up.

SNES FTW

I've been playing Fire Emblem lately, but there are some great games for the snes. Unfortunately my SNES library has only 8 games.

Seiken Densetsu 3 (Some people call it Secret of Mana 2) was translated in 2000 and I think it's one of the best SNES RPGs. So if you don't mind using an emulator it would be a good choice.
The translation patch is here: http://www.neillcorlett.com/sd3/

Chrono Trigger and Breath of Fire II were fun titles. I didn't get much into RPGs beyond those two, though.

he's asking about SNES games in particular, not RPG's in general.

Lufia, and Lufia and the Fortress of Doom. By far the hardest RPG's EVER. Chrono Trigger is far superior to Chrono Cross (although Cross was good). FF3 best FF ever, right next to 10, and 7 if they hadn't rushed it so much. (Very Noticible), I personally hated 8. The card game was fun, the regular game wasn't. Earthbound is the shit. I got the emulator with the 5 billion rom packs. Liek every system out there has one now. Even N64 has an "OK" one.

Secret of Mana Equinox Chrono Trigger Final Fantasy Link to the Past (kinda;-) Tales of Phantasia (japanese, but AMAZING; The opening scene had a SONG! A song on SNES was Ker-azy to me, back then) Earthbound Ogrebattle
Video Game rpgs were always on the back burner to D&D: The game that invented the RPG

One time I went to the recycling depot and they had tons of Nintendo Power and Fate Magazine, I brought them home. It had the second issue of nintendo power too. My mom decided I had too many magazines and threw them all out one day though.

If, by 'old', you are referring to anyhing 10 years ago or longer, then I love Final Fantasy VII. I got it 10 years ago and have never finished the game. Right now, I'm levelling up my characters so as to beat the Red Dragon. Chrono Cross was good too.

Good question.
I don't think the type of games I played influenced the type of person I became. Instead I think the type of person I was influenced the type of games I played.

I was unable to play Fallout I on my computer but I also have Fallout 2- I hope I can get it to work on XP somehow.
By far the best RPG I ever played was a game few people have ever heard of, Planescape:Torment by Black Isle Studios.
Pure genius.

It is listed as one of the Greatest Games of All Time by most gamer magazines. I wish they'd make more games like that but Torment is unique as far as I can tell. Unfortunately, it was poorly marketed and never received the audience it so richly deserved.
No other game I have played before or since had the emotional impact of this game. It was totally immersive. The characters who joined my party became like part of my family. I felt like I was cheating on it when I played other games and it genuinly saddened me when it ended.
Following is a link to info on the game including in-game movies to give you a better idea of what it's like to play. Start with movie #1..you wake up on that slab in a mortuary having no idea who you are or how you got there. The whole game is about uncovering your identity. Great, great game and no one EVER had a better sidekick than Morte, the floating skull!

I recently realized I still have Fallout2 installed on my computer from way back in the day. I've been thinking about starting a new game...
