Any gourmet edible suggestions for a newbie?
    #7631942 - 11/13/07 06:06 PM (16 years, 2 months ago)

Hi,

I have had one successful grow of cubensis and would like to try a gourmet edible.  I would like to use my shotgun fc, but would not be adverse to trying a monotub.

Any suggestions on a species and tips for cultivation regarding said species is much appreciated

Thanks,
M

I would start with oysters on straw blocks...very forgiving and easy.

I second that. Oysters are very forgiving as I am finding out right now

however for oysters a monotub will not work.

they need HIGH and STEADY fresh air, otherwise they will grow very poorly and crooked.

I quote partially snoot. Start with Lentinus edodes, it's CO2 tolerant and it needs just a cold shock and bath in water.
