My sister sends me these things all the time. Usually I'm way too cool to consider them important. I found this in my junk mail and because it had her name I opened it. I started to watch it and started to run my tape about how tacky it was. As I continued though I realized it was talking about something I really could use in my life. So I'm going to share this tacky thing with you and let you all decide.

That is a little tacky, but it seems like a cool manifestation of letting go. Although, I'm not too sure why he would pick them up again. Maybe because they are his own burden? He does seem to identify with his troubles though.

IMO anyone who is honest at all will admit that they identify with their troubles. The point here is to keep them focused in the arena of influence (where you can deal with them in some way) and not take them with you to influence the rest of your experience and dump them on others hoping for sympathy or some ego shit.
I do this all the time myself. Just ask Veritas, I'm always whining to her about something that has nothing to do with the time I'm spending with her or what time we might more fully enjoy together had I not been complaining about so much trivia. In this area I'm one sick fuck.

Not necessarily, but yes, I'd imagine that's the case with most.

When I was in the US Navy and undergoing my Conscientious Objector ordeal, I was whining to a buddy about all the difficulties and obstacles. At the moment we were running dark in the middle of the Pacific Ocean and he and I were topside. If you have ever had a 360 degree view of the stars, then you know how amazing the sight is.
He cocked his said to one side and asked, "Are you hungry?"
"No," I replied.
"Are you ill?" he continued.
"Nope."
"In physical pain?"
"No, why do you ask?" I countered.
"Nice night, eh?"
"Sure is!" I confirmed.
Then he caught me off-guard when he faced me and yelled, "THEN WHAT IS THE FUCKING PROBLEM?"
Talk about being yanked back to The Now...

If it's a "problem" then we're identified with it.;)

True, but, since we're on semantics, the word "problem" was never used. Although I suppose you could argue "trouble" may be synonymous in this situation.
Anyways, I see what you're saying and agree.
