In all my years here, I do not remember (could be age-related) a single post wherein someone wrote, "Awesome post! I don't agree with a single thing you wrote."
Summation: Awesomeness = like-mindedness.
Note: I expect the first 3-5 responses will be jokes before we can get into the meat of the matter.

lol.. that's true.
strange, right before you posted this i was thinking about how i was seeing certain posts on the shroomery i had never really noticed before and i realized that i probably just ignored them before because i was not at all in the same mindset.
then i got to thinking how our mindset plays such a large part in who we choose to interact with and the places we choose to be, etc

I don't eat meat so could we instead get to the vegan of the matter.
No joke, I am perfectly serious.

I don't think I've ever given a thumbs up for such a post, but I'm fairly sure I've congratulated opponents on a well-made argument. I've also conceded points of theirs. I usually use the thumbs up smiley just to signify that I agree with the post. If I think they made a stellar argument, I'll include an "awesome post" comment as well.

No doubt, but exuberance is reserved for those most like ourselves as pertains to a single post.

True. Cliquishness is just a natural aspect of human behavior, as far as I can tell.

To pre-empt the highly predictable, "I agree,"; "I don't agree," responses that would have followed in a parallel universe without the admonition.

The men in white coats dragged a babbling, drooling OG out to their van in a straight-jacket. "No one understands!" was all he could say coherently as they injected a sedative into the distraught man. Authorities are unsure why he snapped.
