2nd dunk, squishy cakes
    #7630153 - 11/13/07 12:02 PM (16 years, 2 months ago)

Newbie after first flush:

I dunked my cakes after their first flush for 24 hours. When I pulled them out to rinse I notices that some of them were squishy on top and came off easily. I tossed the cakes fearing something wrong (better safe than sorry). I was wondering for future reference if this is a bad sign or is it ok and I was overreacting?

I also noticed some cobweb mold growing at the base of another cake in a different fc. I tossed it immediately and did a light spraying of H2O2/water mix. My question is, is it good to alternate between misting H2O2/water and straight water to help prevent/control ceratin contams?

Any help would be much appreciated

I'm not too sure about the cake being sqishy, I'm guessing its fine sinse it has sat in a lot of water.

as for cobweb, use !pray with h202 then again aster 12 hours even if it looks gone.

theres no need to use it regularly, h202 will shock mycelium.

if u ar giving plenty fae, then contams in the fc should be minimal.
cobweb likes still stale air.
