Supernatural Powers or Illusion?

Watch the videos in order.
Chris Angel has stated repeatedly that he's an illusionist and has no supernatural powers. Many mystic-heads refuse to accept this and believe that he actually defies the rules of the universe and levitates.
Just because you can't explain something doesn't mean it's magic. If you look close enough and apply critical thought, there is ALWAYS a rational explanation.
The illusion:
The revelation:
If a talented performer can so easily fool you, imagine how much easier it is for you to fool yourself.

I think everyone already knows that Cris Angel is a stage magician, BUT he has mastered the manipulation of attention which funny enough is the root of all magical traditions. However, there is nothing supernatural going on.

A warrior is tuned to survive, and he survives in the best of all possible fashions." ― Carlos Castaneda

However, there is nothing supernatural going on.
Tell that to these crystal-loving freakazoids with no critical thinking skills:
Chriss Angel and David Blaine are sorcerers (male versions of witches). I know that referring to someone as a sorcerer or witch is not politically correct, but the shoe fits, and I call it how it is. There is no scientific explanation for what Chriss Angel and David Blaine do--because witchcraft is not science--but there is definitely a supernatural explanation.

People like that are obviously just clueless.
Magicians manipulate their own attention, Illusionists manipulate the attention of others.

I think the point Diploid is trying to make is that a whole lot of people are like that with everything from 9/11 to UFOs.

These idiots are in no way representative of the mystical/occult community at large, any more than people who believe the earth is flat or that pro wrestling and Harlem Globetrotters games aren't staged.

These idiots are in no way representative of the mystical/occult community at large,
Then who does represent them? The folk here at the Shroomery?

I think it represents redneck America in general.

What is "it"? Do you mean the Shroomery folk? I wouldn't go that far. I have lived around rednecks much of my life.

Yes, Chris Angel is a great stage magician. I like the new trend of 'street magick'. And I like, like a child to be fooled and then, like an adult look behind the curtains. Both parts are part of the equation. You've seen those splitting body tricks of him ? I still wonder how he did that. Liliputs ? Invalids ? Still it's ugly but even crossing moral standards is part of his duty and part of the fascination those guys do.
And of course there's not really one unexplained 'trick' from stage mages. If they build most of their tricks on illusions, why should it be different with any other trick they do ? But some are really very tricky I them

Oh, bullshit. I'm the closest thing you've seen to a real redneck in years. Where you live "rednecks" eat organic food and pray over crystals.
