Fruiting chamber
    #7626570 - 11/12/07 04:19 PM (16 years, 2 months ago)

So. Does anyone know a tutorial to how I can make a cheap fruiting chamber that will let shrooms grow to a height of around 8-9 inches? Or suggestions on how to fruit them without a set chamber?

Edit: Oh yes i forgot to mention that the fruiting chamber cannot be obvious lol I have limited space and I will only be incubating 6-10 half pint jars at a time.

This is a Incubator and a FC
This is two 30gal rubbermaid tubs one inside the other with 5-8gals of water in between with a aquarium heater.

To fruit all you have to do is make a light lid and turn down the heater and maybe hook up a air pump for FAE.

Here's a light lid

I went to Home Depot and got a big sheet of Plexiglas and cut out a piece to fit the light then glue it to the lid with adhesive silicone & hot glue.
Then you just set the light on top

I use a 5 gallon tote
http://www.sterilite.com/Category.html?Section=Storage&ProductCategory=33##

4 inches of perlite
1x fish air pump w/ bubble curtain
1x fishtank heater (optional)
i attached a light to the inside of the lid and drilled a bunch of holes in it..

you can stick it in a closet or in a corner..
plenty of room for shrooms to grow

:pm: me if you have questions about lasers

Although i may advise others in a general way regarding all types of mushroom grows, and may even post question from other forums about growing "active" mushrooms, i only grow non-"active" mushrooms and edibles.
