Hey, A fellow missourian. I'm from southwest missouri and havn't had any luck yet. Let me know if you find any goodones. panaeolus subbalteatus is said to grow around here. And I've heard Cubensis but I dout that.

Well there are thousands and thousands of different mushroom species. A small number are edible, even fewer will get you high. The odds are against you. Your best bet is to learn about the mushroom(s) you seek and look in the right areas for that specie. To just pick any mushroom at random is like trying to find a needle in a haystack.
Also, some kind of description of what you found might help us id them.
