just wanted to know if the shape of the jars makes a difference. i have half pint jars but they are tall and skinny not like the short ones in rr's video.[url=http://www.shroomery.org/forums/files/07-46/49055

They should be okay as long at there is no curve at the top to keep the cake from being birthed.

a friend of mine is experimenting with conical jars, checking what kind of yields you can achieve with half spheres n stuff...

Then you should be golden. I mean I've seen pics of people with cakes in shot glasses, brandy snifters, those red cups you see at every frat party, etc...

You'll get the same yield from a sphere -shaped cake then from the normal shaped cakes...in my experience.

i find that the long and skinny half pint jars work better for two reasons

1. they colonized quicker

2. more space in your fruiting chamber when growing off cakes

in my opinion anyways....
