OH MY GOD! I pinned PR's under bad conditions!!!!!

Hello all my loved friends,

I am the happiest man in the world!!! I checked my PR casing for the usual fanning/misting and i see PINS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm only amazed because PRs are impossible to pin under bad conditions, and i DID IT!!!!!!!!!!!! This is my first casing as well!!! My temp was constantly 84-86 degrees, my rH was constantly 90%, air exchange was normal though.

I DID IT, I DID IT!!

I just counted the pins, im not lieing but i counted 50+ on a 4"x8" casing, seriously!

If anyone is wondering why im so damn happy is because this is my first sighn of mushrooms EVER and i am under the infulence of various drugs(alcohol, pot, and a little DXM).

Now i actually have a question. My pins are small just yet, the biggest being about 1 cm, smallest about 1mm and average is about 2mm. How long will it be until these are full grown mushrooms? Im guessing 3-4 days....

i found that PRs tend to develop pins well but that they tended to abort if they are overlayed.

Those are the most recent pics of the casing, that was about 2 days ago. I dont see overlay yet. The pic is sort of strange, the camera seemed to see more mycelium that i can with my eye

If you want a more recent pic, just look above and place many 2mm pins everywhere....

Oh also how can you tell its overlay other than looking, can i take an alcohol flamed needle and poke a small piece of the myclium to see if its hard?

dude.. overlay is when the mycelium covers over the top part of the casing... you birth the cake when mycelium pokes it head above the top part of the casing (lol)

in your case since your using PRs i would suggest birthing right after you case it.. or else mycelium will take over...

no problems there - just stasrt fanning and they should pin. if it continues to send rhizos through the mycelia, give it a stratch

JohnnyR, I hope you meant to say initiate pinning. You birth it out of jars. I am pretty sure you should incubate in a dark spot for a couple days to let the mycelial network reestablish itself and once you begin to see the stuff poking through evenly, not when you see it in one place. Then you throw it in your fruiting chamber and introduce light. 2-7 days later pins will appear. oh yea.

Fd way to go! Just wait you will have a shit load in a week.

closetfreak - No with PR's you put them straight in the fruiting chamber, they mycelium will re-establish itself there. If you leave PR's in the incubator after cased for 1+ day they have an 80% chance of overlaying .

My pins are beauties, i got a nice even flush.

I'm afraid a lot of them will end up aborting. I've had an awsome pin set several times in unfavorable conditions but then only about half ever reached maturity. Good luck and try to get that enviroment as good as possible.

I fixed my enviroment problems. My temp is good, my rH is at 85%-02% because the pins are ready to mature and i fan every 4 hours or so. They also get alot of light.
