I lost a friend

I lurk these forums pretty often, and dont post much. Something happened to me over this weekend. I have never lost a friend or anyone close to me before. when i woke up sunday morning, my biggest worry was finishing a paper that was due. I got a call from a friend in my hometown that afternoon, "hey im gonna tell you something and youre going to freak out", "they got out, but she died man" After all the crazy things my group of friends have done, it wasnt one of us who got killed in a car accident, but the young girl who was just hanging out. and now some of my friends are seen as responsible for her death. I cant even believe it, or begin to explain how i am feeling, much less my two friends in the car with her. she was the only person wearing her seatbelt too. something like this makes the rest of life and its responsibilities so trivial to me. why care about finishing my paper. what really is the point? If i had felt i was simply going through the motions before, i have that feeling ten-fold now. This has changed my group of friends forever now, and its only been one day. A girl is dead. I can remember the way she smelled when she hugged me when i saw her out. Im so sad about this because i know there is no way to take this back, to make things right. I feel so much for my two best friends who are now just sitting home, possibly with survivors guilt, one waiting to see if he is charged with possible manslaughter. I cant cry right now, only because i am in the middle of my school library.
I love you kelly, we will all miss you

That's really sad, humans are frail and you must remember that death is a part of all life, it might not have come at a convenient time for her, but when is death ever convenient? You should go and console your friends. I'm sorry for your loss.

sorry for your loss man, losing friends and loved ones is one of the hardest and most painful things people can go through.

Thats a sad situation. But you must remember death is a natural thing and it will eventually happen to everyone. Think of her moving on to something much greater then this world.

But it eventually happens no matter what. And no one knows what happens when you die...it could possibly be the BEST thing to ever happen to any of us, but then again it could be one of the worst things.

On a long enough time line, the survival rate for everyone drops to zero.
RIP your friend

We must never forget that nothing lasts. Something like this was bound to happen sometime. It was either going to be that day or the next. The thing to focus on is to think of the time you had with this person and be glad you found a gem in a sea of horrible and stupid people.
Sorry for your loss.
