yes but im sure there are cheaper alternatives be aware that more desiccants have a certain life span.
i use kilrock refill for moisture traps and made my own chamber, this is basically a bag of calcium chloride crystals and is relatively inxpensive.. about £1.30 and this lasts me for drying about 2 hauls of mushrooms before its completely saturated.

well the beauty of this is that after it is spent, you pop it in the oven and it recharges it somehow and your good to go.
I just never used desiccant before in drying and wasn't sure. I am gonna pick this badboy up for a few bucks, it will be a lot better than drying them in folded over newspaper. hehe:)

Use it to finish off air dried mushrooms, but not anything else. It will quickly become saturated and the soggy mushrooms will rot.

Well usually I am picking mushrooms only a few at a time and put them into the drying newspaper, so this will be better than nothin.
It just has a bunch of the silica gel beads in it, like the desiccant that is found in pockets of clothes and stuff.
I guess i will try it for now, but I will watch it cause I don't want rotted shrooms (don't know why that smilie is relevent)
