Buy them off ebay, you can get far better Sennheisers than that for fairly cheap

I have a sennheiser HD-590 really amazing crisp sound, very defined bass too! best I've tried ever (havent tried that many though..) - these are open ear headphones - super-extremely-comfy on your head and around your ears!!

Grado is the best brand in my opinion. It has the best channel seperation, and is more clear then any Sennheiser. The sound quality cannot be beat except for one area and that is bass. Sennheiser has better bass, or more of that rumbly bass that you probably dig considering what type of music you are into. So Sennheiser is probably for you. Im more of a jazz classical rock kind of guy. I have the Grado 125's at the moment, but Ive tried every kind up to the RS-1's. Ive also tried all the top Sennheisers and what I wrote above is what I determiend. Grado has clearer sound with more detail, but the bass isn't as good. There are some other subtle differences that are hard to describe, such as the Grados sound like you are closer to the band instead of far back. Read some reviews Im sure they can poeticise it for you.

I own these, the 595s. They are absolutely excellent for the price. The sound spectrum is very evenly represented, with warm bass and gentle highs. They have very low impedance so just about anything can drive them fairly well. Velour pads and oh so comfortable.
For portable, the Senni PX-100 can't be beat for $30. In fact they make great indoor phones as well.

Just go to an audio store, they will most likely have all of these brands of headphones. I tried out like 8 different pairs last time I was there. Keep in mind though that the sound quality improves after you break the headphones in

I've got a pair of Sony MDR-V900HDs , they're studio monitor headphones, and they totally kick ass. full EQ balance coupled with distortion-free bass = key.

If you're looking for REAL quality check the Senheisser HD-25, these are the best I've ever heard, followed closely by the HD-25 sp1, which are about half the price of the HD-25.
