do it the alton brown way. get a 10 dollar box fan from walmart and a couple of those big central air vent filters. turn the fan on its side and elevate it by putting cups or something under each corner. then stack those filters on top, putting fruit/meat in each layer.

nice I dehydrate shit all the time. Banana's, mushrooms, bread, sometimes when I roll a doob and the ganja is too sticky/wet I'll stick it in there for a bit.

Dehydrated blueberries are pretty good.
I tried dehydrating marshmallows once, and dipping them in chocolate. Not bad.

We used to throw anything edible on the dehydrator just to see what it would taste like. Apples, Bananas, Pineapple, Coconut, Apricots, Peaches, Pears, Strawberries, blueberries, and Watermelon(came out like cotton candy) I suggest dipping fruits in lemon juice to prevent browning

Does it really affect potency? I was thinking if you boil tea, why would a dehydrator really matter, but then again, I could be missing some factor.

is the lemon juice necessary?

i'd gather it's not necessary, considering he said "i suggest diping fruits in lemon juice to prevent browning"
to me that says, if you'd like for your dried fruits to come out less brown, use lemon juice. otherwise, whatev.

Naw you should be all right, depends how thick you cut the fruits, the thicker pieces take longer, I've had london broil/beef jerkey take 3 days, but that was years ago on a dehydrator without a fan. Yeah, just check on 'em every few hours, or after you wake up, it's pretty simple really, you'll get the hang of it.
