Vendor forum update suggestions.

After watching this forum for quite some time, I thought a discussion of possible improvements to streamline flow were in order.
First, there's too many duplicate and repetitive threads that get started, and secondly, each new thread that starts, pushes other valuable threads further down the list.
My suggestion for cleaning up the forum and making it easier for new members to find the information they need is for each vendor to create two threads, that would then be stickied together at the top of the page by the moderating staff. The first thread would be the vendor's own thread, where he/she would announce specials, and otherwise let the public know what is offered. Only the vendor would have access to post in that thread.
The second thread would be the feedback thread, where questions could be asked, and feedback on the vendor could be posted all in one thread to make it easier to find, as well as to eliminate duplicate and repetitive threads. All members, as well as the vendor himself would be able to post in the feedback thread.
What say ye? RR

my personal opinion, is use the sub-catagory feature.. give each fender a sub forum, and use the marketplace as general info.
ya know the "where can i get XXX " type questions
if you use "threads" they will quickly be over run with such questions.

If we gave every Vendor a sub-forum there would be 13 of those....
plus the Short term ad sub-forum.
that would be 14 sub-forums that could possibly take up more than the 1st page.
I'd rather see the main part of the Vendor/Sponsor forum be for Vendor Specials and Annoucements...
with a sub forum for feedback and questions from the members...
if we ever change things around here.
the Marketplace forum has nothing to do with the Sponsor/Vendor forum at all...
and lets leave it like that.
plus you have to have 90 days and 50 post to be able to view that forum...
and alot of the questions come from newbies who wouldn't be able to view or use that forum.

From what I've seen, there aren't enough threads posted in this forum for it to impact on the quality of answers/thread life. From a customer service point of view, threads are being answered timely and are not getting bumped down before being dealt with. I think this may be an issue of how long a vendor announcement thread lasts more than anything.
Even though this system has its faults, sub categorizing will probably just see lower view counts for your announcements and specials.
