I'm pretty confident in my ability to structure some sound. The esx is nice but its limited, the only thing I hate about the emx is the fact that I can't send the drum parts through the filter's. If you have any way questions man just holla! for sure.

nice Diploid, I was thinking of getting that korg, but I decided to invest in a m-audio axiom 49 which should be here today or tomroow.

no doubt its the most versatile keyboard midi controller I could find with weighted keys and for about 215$ its not a bad price either.

its a nice controller. the weighted keys are great, but the transport buttons i never found a use for. i have a few beefs with that controller tho. the volume sliders i had problems with. some of them i couldnt get to function properly.
the biggest problem i had with them is the actual feel of the cc knobs. they feel funny when you use them. im more of a fan of the knobs that are smooth and have a 1-127 start and stop point. the knobs on the axiom 49 dont have this, they just turn around infinitely and arent smooth, they bump and rumble when you twist em.
and the drum pads have a weak velocity. you gotta slam down on them hard as shit to get a decent midi recording out of them.

the transport keys are used when syncing with other midi like a korg emx, then you can hit start and everything starts in unison.

ps, all midi functions have a range of 1-127, well most of them. those knobs may keep moving but theyre not going lower than 1 (or 0) and higher than 127 (or 128)
(some midi controllers and other stuff will function 0-127, others 1-128...i hope im not getting this all mixed up)

man this board pwns, the knobs are a bit weird, but if you think about, thats almost good, for a few reasons. Say you change the function of one of those knobs perhaps during a live set, and the knob itself is at a different level this being if it was a set amount from 1-127 instead of an infinite loop, ok, so imagine that the knob is at about like 60 but you change what it controls and the amount that, that function might be at like 2 so when you go to change that amount ,that amount immediately bounces to 60 before going changing, making for a horrible effect. You get what I'm saying , its kinda hard to explain, but I noticed that with the trigger finger I had, you had to almost always be aware of what the knobs are at when you change the function so if ywhere to have it used for pitch and you had it turned all the way up right, to 127 and then you quickly change that function to bring in a bass kick thats set too 0 if aren't watching, when you go to turn it up, itll jump to 127 then go down really quick, then begin to fade up as you initially desired. Secondly, I like the clicks it adds for much more precise control, and I've had to problems with the faders infact they are very smoove. Did you get yours new? or used?
