Re: Bill to cut Funding to College Students [Re: Redstorm]

My problem is the manner of forcing. If I don't buy food, I'll starve. If I steal it, I'll go to jail. I have no problem with that concept. Music on the other hand, is infinite. If I download a song I in no way inhibit others from owning the song, whereas stealing something like food or a skateboard physically deprives someone of the object in question. Furthermore, I strongly disapprove of the fact that "all of their students--even ones who don't own a computer--would lose federal financial aid." Punishing students for others' actions is barbaric. Then I have a problem with the concept of forcing a college to pay for the student's right to acquire music. Namely, because if the college has to pay, then my tuition gets raised, probably not by a reasonable amount either.

If this doesn't make sense I'll revise it in the morning. I'm real tired and my brain has trouble stringing sentences together in a really coherent way

They could have easily come to some sort of agreement... like upped their prices for non students and then limit the # of records a student can buy per day or something

Anywho.. back on topic.. this law.. STOOOOOPID... perfect example of how the democrats are trying to social engineer EVERYTHING and waste their time on non issues
