pot butter hmmmmm

so i was going to do acid tonight for the second time but its post phoned till tomorrow as my gf has to work tomorrow and i wanted her as a sitter, well mostly i just cant be up all night making noise haha,
anywho im gonna make some pot butter instead and im wondering how many grams of stems is equal to a gram of good mids as far as making butter goes, i always just throw my stems on top of whatever pot im making the butter with but today i only have 1/8 of pot and i need that to smoke today and tomorrow as i probably wont pick till sunday.

ive got 8 grams of stems. how long does everyone cook there butter for(water butter mix) i cook mine for 3-4 hours but i may pan saute for the fist time tonight as im short on time since im waiting for my gf to get home with the dang butter i have a stigma about using margarine.

I just let my butter and water boil for an hour, comes out fine for me.

Noone can answer how many stems equal anything though I would imagine.

How many licks to the center of a tootsie roll pop?

stems are significantly less potent, i suggest you stick with the bud.

1) put the butter in a pot of boiling water and let it melt
2) add in the ground bud and stir intermittently for 30 mins
3) pour through a cheese cloth to separate the plant matter
3b) if you want you can do another extraction by adding more butter with what you strained out.. but its not really necessary.

4) let it cool, then refigerate.  the butter (with extracted thc) will solidify above the water.  you can lift it out and store in your fridge and use for whatever you want (brownies are nice).

and for first timers: make sure you keep track of how many grams of bud and butter you used, so you know how strong it is.  i think a gram or so is suggested per portion until you know what you're dealing with.  it takes a while before you feel the effects, it can be strong and much longer.  my record so far from a few brownies is being really stoned for about 10.5 hrs, and still feeling something when i woke up the next day... i was expecting it and had a great time, make sure you have realistic expectations too :smile:

You have to use a LOT of stems, at least use an eighth of mids and then stems too for a stick of butter.

You don't need to use anything to filter the plant from the butter, just refrigerate the butter/water, and take the butter form the top, the plant matter sinks

well what i ended up doin is using the 8 grams of stems mixed with 2-3 grams of pot, i melted the butter in a pyrex bowl that had its botom submerged in another pot with an inch of water (bowl had some oil left that i couldnt scrape up in it from the last batch). now that the oil is in the butter and the butter is melted i mixed the pot and oil in water and simmered for 2 1/2h, i then strained and refreigerated overnight, while straining i used tea bags to clean up spilled goodness and made a cup of tea and got a heavy body stone that somehow kept me up till 6am,

anywho im baking the cookies right now and will test at about 4 or so im going to have to take a nap when tyhey r cooked the dam gf woke me up at 8 to give her a ride to work and i got cooking these when i got home so im tired as fuck.

oh and all in all i made 6 cookies with what i used they r a good size, ill give a report on potency tonight

you wouldn't have spilled any butter if you hadn't wasted effort straining it and just refrigerated it so the butter solidified on top of the water with the plant matter sunk to the bottom.
