What is it?

Hola,

In one of my Morchella trays this is growing and I don´t know what it is. I´ve never seen something like this. I´ve had lots of different molds but nothing like this. Look at the left down corner of the pic.
What do you think?

Gracias.

Probably coprinus of some kind. Are you attempting to fruit the sclerotia in peat?

Sclerotia and substrate. I don´t expect anything just wanted to see how this fungus behaves in culture and grain and such. It´s weird if compared to any other conventional mushroom.

Substrate might encourage colonization rather than fruiting. I've seen large morel sclerotia fruit right out of the sclerotia itself, if placed in a nutrient free medium such as buffered peat.

Yes, I´ve read in one post that you got morel primordia forming in peat after adding wood ashes. Do you think potassium is what makes morel sclerotia fruit?

I tried to fruit some mexicana A long time ago in that manner but it never fruited.
