OK people, here is the cure for hydro root rot. Write this down. All you have to do is put the right amount of h202 in the water periodicaly. Yes, plain old cheap peroxide does the job. The brown color and especially the nasty jelly like substance that grows on the roots and kills them is some sort of pathogen. Not sure if it's fungus or bacteria but suspect it's bacteria. Badly damaged roots will not come back but new ones will grow vigorously. Put in 1/2 ml per gallon of water in the reservoir. Add at the same rate with all the water you add to it and you'll never come down with root rot. It's better than that expensive junk. If you already have rot, put in a little more to start, like about 3/4 to 1 ml per gallon. Don't overdo it but I've never hurt them with it yet. The roots will thank you.

DWC is not the best system for a beginner. You can't go wrong with an ebb and flow setup.

I got a bottle of that 35% hydrogen peroxide on the way, 1 liter of it, and 1 liter of the hydroguard or sheild.

make sure u get the h2o2 ratio right... it can be used as a herbicide if strong enough...
when stonehenge refered to 1/2 - 1 ml in a gallon, i guess he is talking about standard household peroxide which is 3%, not 35% as u bought, but u should probably get him to confirm that himself...
why dont people give the strength of the solution they used when talking about h2o2...

I been asking on grass city and they were saying 30 ml per gallon of 3%, so I just added a spill in more to each bucket , now that u said that now i think I just od'd them o.O
And on grass city they recommended the 35% at a .25% ratio. And I was like what the hell is .25% of 4 gallons and I still dunno. =(

Either quit growing weed or try soil.

I was referring to 3% peroxide. Yes, I should have made that clear but I did say "plain old cheap peroxide" which I thought everyone would understand to be household strength. It works like a charm. I would not use 30 ml per gallon but that's up to each person. The roots seem to really love the strength I use.

I def did not add over 15 ml per bucket thats for sure. The bottle of peroxide was not even that full, so I measured 3 big spoons in each bucket, and then the next day I was thinking if people want me to get the 35% then i probably added a insignificant amount.
So I put like the same dose again but eye balled from the bottle and it was just a little bit more in each bucket.
The roots looked better already. And the plants are growing faster now, before it was seeming like some slow growth. But that could just be because there bigger plants now.

And the plants are thriving now, and the visible fungus's on the topper roots seems to be gone completely, and all the roots are nice and white.
But I am also giving them different plant food ratios for the switch to bud. So maybe most of the color was from the general hydroponics.
Case only 1 plant ever had any real brown roots. and its getting all new white ones, and now the peroxide, I think I am good and my 35% will arrive and then I can follow the directions. Cause its for plants soil and hydro so I know its gonna have some instructions, if not then ima be begging you and others for some =P
You gotta learn somehow, and I am the edge of success, I am young boy man! Chill lets be friends!!! I admit I do not know everything, and I admit that I really did want nothing to be wrong with my plants. I mean I never had this problem at all with my other grows, sure I had problems, timers breaking. a big huge soil plant to hydro, however it did grow lots of new roots lol , but u all know that plant eeek, now come on I know I fucked that plant up. I was like 18 and wanted hydro lol.
I had the rite meters the combo ph ppm my buckets were solid, fancy buckets, and I just dumped them out individually and fille them with a hose on in a small room built outside. I heated it with a oil heater.
There was also hella good pan cyans growing at the time, and hella cubes that I did not mess up. So come on its a mushroom site and I am good at mushrooms. Whats wrong with me being a amature grower on a shroom site.
The exchange of ideas is always good. I got lots of experiments in mind after I get a few harvests. I was thinking of upgradeing to a 1000 watter HPS later on and then stop listing and grow them up and pinch them hella so they split out a lot and then when it gets bigger than youd think u should veg it, the grow area does have a low ceiling but its only low compared to the other part of the garage that has like a addic area.
So anyway I was thinking at 2 feet from the light on the ceiling put a scrog skreen there, witha big big plant. and like half way through its budding have it reaching the skreen and then spreading the growth outward at the end, I dunno I made the idea up by seeing pics of smaller skreen grows and i liked their results even the people with just puny florescent were getting decent results.
My plants are still nice and green and the 1 plant that had some leaf issues on just 3 leafs about has stopped since the peroxide and that was the plant also with the brown roots, and it is continuing to grow, and that sick clone well it recoved like a week ago and now its got long roots, but it is still small and is a very weird plant and it started budding in the veg cycle, and its just a UW strain, thats all it said on the clones pot from the bank, and then we had killer purple which I just took a ton of clones from the other day.
And the strain really was killer purple, it said so on the pot so it must be a real strain,
the other UW one just was UW some numbers clone.
I mean I got access to medical clones,
Why would u want me to fail, I even hooked people up with some clones. I got like 12 clones from the mom and that was just if some wouldn't make it. So far there all good, and the ones I gave to people have heard no complaints yet so they must be misting it in some kinda high humidity chamber I hope. There probably not capable of getting t going but hey maybe they will surprise me.
I mean jesus if only ida had hydro guard or peroxide in the water, this wouldnt be happening, but hey new clones fresh start all female this time, who knows how many males will come from the bag seeds, 2 maled out in 18/6, like it was so obvious male it was pretty weird, cause I know the light scheduler is fine, and only 2 of the soil and that sick medical clone started to bud early, and now the medical clones all green for the record, and the mom medical clone i peroxided p and I think its coming around, I dun wanna lose my mom. cause these clones from a clone from the bank are less good as the originals rite.

This is from my 2nd grow, I did about 10 blue berry seeds from weed seed shop that my friend ordered and did some serious soil grow for a wile and then his mom found out even though its his place cause his dad was working on it with him, and he told her, so they had to abort and they had not even been doing it for like much longer than a year, so he gave me a unopened packet of blue berry seeds with the logo on it so I was like sweet.
Went home germinated them adn filled up my 5 bucket veg system, its 6 buckets and at a whole new location this time,, and it has water inlets and outlets rite there which rules for filling and draining.
Especially since I fill it up and drain it with water 3 times cause it drains to about an inch of water not 100% all of it.
And I dont want nasty backteria growing,
but whats pissing me off is the longest I have waited on a water change with these guys was the 1 time I had the flu and it was like 9-11 days, The ones before it were ever 6-8 days. and Now I am doing it like every 5 days.
but on my first grows cause the water changes were so hard, I changed the water once every 2-4 WEEKS, and this bacterial and fungal issue was never evera problem before, and that plant rite there was so big that it didn't fit in the grow space so I had to keep trimming it down and in a week it was bigger than before I cut it down. oh and out of the seeds I kept, only 1! was female, and I was stupid nub, and picked a plant at random cause cloning was scary at the time I was like wtf.
But now its plain and clear and easy. So I just pciked a random plant as a mother and was like its 60% 40%, thought I had good chances of picking a female plant.
So then I put all my plants into bud, and then was ready to learn to clone new plants to put in the system, so I took a buncha clones,
And then budded 1 from being cloned, and after 1 week from cloneing it sexed male >.< so I killed all the other clones from it and the plants I picked as amother and took the plant in the pick there out of bud and back into veg and then it made a buncha 1 leaf tips and I was like NOOOOO, if I woulda budded it out I woulda got some bud, but I really wanteda female mother and I read that they do recover well it was over a month and a half, and a lot of plant growth in garbage bags from having to cut it cause it grew so thick and fast! And then it just shot out mass messed up grown and just enver stopped, so I tried cloneing it as a last chance, that the clones would revert hormones or something from having to root from scratch, but nope they all grew messed up growth to, and I waited like 1 more month and they and the mom never recovered, and it was already smelling like bud far from the grow area all the way into the neighbors yards, and I didn't think it would be that bad, like to travel through outdoors so far, but it really did.
