Writing inspired by a Trip (your writing)
    #7620260 - 11/10/07 08:39 PM (16 years, 2 months ago)

So, I know I'm not the only person who does this... I know a lot of people write experience reports after their trips, but I know there's more that gets written.

I have written songs, poems, interpretations/teachings, stories, papers, essays, etc. that have been ultimately about trips or simply the psychedelic experience as a whole. I've written about bad trips, good trips, hard trips, easy trips, happy trips, etc. And I know a hell of a lot of people have too. Hell, I'd say most psychedelic-related songs are about particular trips in themselves.

So anyways, I wanted to see some people's shorter writings and such. Here's a song/poem I wrote about the adventure of the unknown possibilities in a trip, and how they can take you by surprise. Even the most prepared mind can be caught off guard and will claw to get back to reality.
Quote:

There’s no way to know how far we’ll go in.
Inflated egos make us think we can dive
Starring down at this bottomless pool

Last time I skipped off the surface,
the time before I just dipped my toes

Just dive right in,
Maybe you can break through in time.
Let those chilling needles of cold pass over you and drift away.

Not like that friend of mine, who went in half way.
Got stuck for a while, trapped in the apprehension
Just out of reach of the board as he plummeted down

I may have gone a bit too far, I fear
Will I get out of it this time?
What was I thinking, taking this leap
I thought I knew where we would go
If only I knew, I had no idea

~Post your trip-inspired writing~

Life is just a flashback...

I may have gone a bit too far, I fear
Will I get out of it this time?
What was I thinking, taking this leap
I thought I knew where we would go
If only I knew, I had no idea.

a song i wrote to escape bad thought loops:

i do this, i do that
i go here, i go there
and it's ok, it's ok, it's ok, it's ok
i do that, i do this
i go there, i go here
and it's alright, it's alright, it's alright, it's alright
i do this, i go here
i do that, i go there
and it's ok, it's ok, it's ok, it's ok
i do this, i go here
i go there, i do that
it's alright, it's alright, it's alright, it's ok

indigo shades and parallel shapes
feeling the void im closing the drapes
i lock myself inside my mind
i look forward to being blind
colors form to show me a sighn

does this feel real
does this feel right
do you feel fine
are you alive

im being pulled down farther
dragged across porous concrete
why does my mind keep slippin
crawling farter to persue a fight
im caught in a crossfire flying a kite

does this feel real
does this feel right
do you feel fine
are you alive

No harm can come from questioning. "Best" case scenerio: You prove it right without relying on the fact that it is widely accepted. Argument strengthened. "Worst" case scenerio: You realize you might have been wrong. The new answer might or might not be what you want to hear, but it beats defending yourself with bullshit.
