Psilocybe Cubensis Ecuador Strain

Hey guys,
Firstly let me just state I have searched the forums for relevant answers & have either not found the answers I'm looking for or I've not been able to understand what you guys mean - so I'm starting this thread to hopefully get some help!
Today I bought a spore syringe & a box of some kind of grain like substrate. I've NEVER grown any mushrooms before, only ever bought them. However it's so hard to get hold of em so finally I bought a kit.
So far I've injected the spores into the substrate (which is enclosed in a sealed clear bag, with a filter & resealable bit for the syringe.) & put the bag of substrate & spores back into the box & put it into my airing cupboard (temp is currently 30 degrees Celsius in there)
What I need to know is do I need to water these guys? Also what exactly do I need to do next. From what I've read I need to leave it for about 10 days right? until it "colonizes?" (this new terminology is rather confusing! lol) I'm guessing then I remove it from the box & open the bag out (without breaking the seal?!) to give the mushrooms room to grow? The guy in the shop mentioned something about putting them under a lamp at some stage?! when exactly do I need to do this?
Please help me out guys I'm a mushroom growing N00b!

You have a LOT more reading to do I think you should have really been asking all of these questions before you jumped in the water. Do NOT water... Leave the bag SEALED and in the DARK.. Keep temperature between 85f and 75f... Do NOT open it, shake it, poke it, put light on it... Then WAIT.. Patiently wait... While you are waiting for the bag to turn as white as snow with fine white hairs, you should be checking into what you do next... There are many different answers to THAT question.. Research some more while you wait.. It could take anywhere from 1 week to a whole month to be ready for the next step. STUDY

*giggle* I am reading as much as I can, however alot of the techniques I'm reading are not relevant for me, I hear loads about tubs & cakes, but hardly anything about bags :/ also all the terminology is confusing. I thought rather than sifting through mounds of irrelevant info I'd just ask some of you very intelligent mushroom growers!
As for jumping in, well what can I say - I like a challenge Plus I've read that P.Cubensis Ecuador strain is really easy to grow?! The guy in the shop assured me it wouldn't be a problem?! Plus I'm dying to trip again! :P Damn drug dealers in my city are crap lol
Thanks for all that advice tho dude - much appreciated! *goes off to study even more*

Use the search. And anything you can do with grain growing you can do with the bags. Plus you can fruit in the bag. You've got at least 2 weeks until the next step. Spend that time reading everything you can.
If you enjoy a challenge so much you wouldn't have posted the question. Instead you would have found the answer.

A cake is just substrate in a jar. What you have is substrate in a bag. For purposes of use, there is no difference.
Ecuadors are a fantastic strain. I should point out, strain differences are minor though. As much as we would all like to believe we're cultivating exotic, hugely different flavors of mushroom when it is all said and done, there really isn't that much. I say this to reassure you that all information is relevant to ecuadors.
Good luck and ask as many questions as you need to get things right.

Hey Tripping Star,
Welcome to growing your own.
Now that you have put the spores in the bag of grain (Substrate), just put it in the dark and wait for the entire bag to turn white (mycelium is generally white, and I know Equador mycelium is white) (this is the spores germinating and colonizing the grain).
Read all you can between now and then, but ask whatever you need to to do this all the way. It is really quite easy once you do it a couple times, and before you know it you will have as many mushrooms as you can handle

Bumping old threads to get your web-flirt on and then bumping them more to joke about them is not really what the mushroom cultivation forum is all about.
enjoy all these "official warnings" I am about to hand out.
