Check it.. 12 quart jars... 4 different strains... Inoculated just one week ago from yesterday... It was a slow climb at first... I was thinking I wouldn't have fully colonized rye until 3 weeks after colonization... Well guess what... These things never cease to amaze me in how independent they are in their growth patterns and how much these little guys have a mind of their own.. These jars are ready as of Monday for spawning... Soooo if yer new to this hobby... Just a reminder that mycelium will grow at it's own rate and you should take that into account when starting out... It could be quicker than you thought... it could be 3 times as long as you thought... Just keep it sterile.. Thanks for all the rye help to those that threw in tid bits of information Who's handling horse poo tomorrow... Oh I think I am P.S. As far as this batch goes... Mazatapec and Thai Lipa Yai, and Cambo, and Puerto Ricans all have the same colonization rate as far as THIS study is concerned... Just to clear the air on that one lol. Happy farming

it seems like a verrrry important factor is hydration of grain. wet grains go sooo slow compared to those with correct hydration !

This I learned... I think I might start working with the additives like gypsum and coffee water.. We'll see.

If you go to Starbucks you can get spent grounds for free and use that with the mix you told me about and I'm sure that would be a good additive as well as the Gypsum. I've heard good things of Gysum I'm going to do the same after I get the Hpoo and use the tek you told me of.
Thanks again
