Chicken pox
    #7618337 - 11/10/07 11:27 AM (16 years, 2 months ago)

So I start to feel like crap on Wednesday and have this itchy spot (but just one) on my chest and I don't think much of it I just figure my sweater is itchy. Thursday I wake up with a mild rash, slightly alarmed I go to school anyways, buy nightfall, its on my face and now I'm thinking holy shit something is on my face and I'm vain, I have no problem admiting that I don't want anything to happen to my face, so I call out of work and go to the walk in. Wait time 30 minutes, fine. The waiting room fills up, no one will sit beside me and people start staring and I'm realizing that I must be covered in this shit by now. I'm getting a little worried, its in my mouth (fucking gross eh?) Anyways the doctor see's me and assures me its just chicken pox. Now I've already had chicken pox bad as a kid, so to me its rediculous that I'm having it again. As a kid you don't fully realize how disgusting it is. Like its vile and of course its on my face and being old, that shit might scar. I'm surprisingly not very itchy, I'm also hopped up on benedryll, so that might have something to do with it, I've also found that benedryl mixed with pot or liquor pretty much makes your body numb, so I am definatly not itchy.
Basically I have 10 days off during the midterm crunch (I'm missing a midterm, group assignment and huge conference) to catch up on everything that I'm behind in, and seeing as I feel aok, but just look gross, it might be a blessing in disguise.

is it shingles, as in the adult version of chicken pox? or has that been ruled out? shingles can get pretty bad, very painful, and if it spreads to your eye can cause blindness if not treated correctly..but shingles is mostly age 50+ people, or people with suppressed immune system, so who knows...id go to a doctor though if you've already had chicken pox..bc it may be the dreaded shing

dude, you shouldn't get chicken pox again, that's why your mom made sure you got it when you were little. go to another doctor!!!! there is something seriously wrong. You could have something serious, like a bad ultra-infectious strain of the pox, known as

SUPER POX

Whatever you do, don't scratch anything or you will get scars.

And put on calamine lotion if you're really itchy.

I remember when my wife caught them in her early thirties.

Her mother protected her from them as a child :flowstone:

Adults should NEVER have to deal w/chicken pox.........EVER.

Thats why God intended for us to catch it as a child.

I have never seen someone so sick as my wife was, when she had to deal with it.
