Do Ipomoea Purpurea morning glory seeds contain LSA, and if so, do they have anything that will kill me?
I tried googling if there is any LSA in them for quite a while and it was not working too well.

First result on a google search. They do indeed contain LSA.

No need to apologise. I didn't mean that to sound nasty or patronising. Also, they do contain toxins, so look into the various preparation techniques to avoid nasty effects.

hey if you are going to try morning glories, I reccomend these two things... firstly, grind up your seeds thoroughly, probably best with a mortar and pestle, as the heat froma coffee grinder might diminish the alkaloid content. Also, take a couple of Dramamine 2 (non-drowsy), about half an hour prior, it will save you massively on the nauseau factor. They don't contain any serious toxins (unless you eat about a pound of them) but they can definitely cause nauseau, and for some people , that really puts a damper on a good experience. Personally, I love 'em (but that's just me).

Does the alkaloid content vary greatly from Ipomea Purpurea to Ipomea Tricolor?

I beleive that the Ipomea tricolor has slightly more LSA than Ipomea Purpurea. However, if there is a difference, it is not sustantial (a few percent, perhaps). Personally though, I would reccomend the Ipomea Tricolor, for no reason other than that i am more well aquainted with it, and can vouch for its effects. Make sure that your seeds are not treated with chemicals, though, that can cause real problems.

Yeah I believe I am growing a common purple purperea, but I still haven't seen any signs of seeds yet. I'm in DFW and Fall just sort of hit.

i knew what ipomoea purpurea was before i even read that it was morning glory..
go hort class!
anyways ya i might be a little excited.
my buddies have done that shit (i never did) they washed 'em (important) and ground 'em and then put 'em in some pudding.
i was chillin with em and it's a long onset but it lasted forever. they were wiggin' out.
said it was alot like psilocybin, but that doesn't convince me to even try it. seems like a crackhead-ass way to get high.
either way, have fun with it and good luck.. later

DFW? I am acronym-illiterate, sorry. I think Morning Glories usually produce seeds during the late autumn/ winter months, after which the plants usually die (if too cold), and re-seed naturally.

in the older literature (my copies buried in the box o' fotocopies from college & med scool libraries, back in the day...) ummmm I. purpurea seeds were found not to contain lysergic acid amides... (the one batch that did test positive was suspected of being mixed spp field collection...) ymmv...
