I got an email from my mom saying she was shocked that I was a ron paul supporter as she discovered on my blog.
I'm pretty sure that this is a sign of the coming apocalypse.

I think a lot of voters will be surprised how well Dr. Paul will poll in the early primary states, and in response will try to understand his message of stabilizing this world so that it may progress with prosperity, peace, and freedom.
In regards to my previous paragraph, regardless of the outcome in this upcoming election his message has spread into at least hundreds of thousands of people on this planet and with such great acceptance and support that a majority of these people will continue to empower these principles of his message into their future.
Therefore, from my knowledge, understanding, faith, and hope, his principles have set themselves a path in this civilization to eventually to be of the majority.

> I think a lot of voters will be surprised how well Dr. Paul will poll in the early primary states
I'm still not certain. Some depends upon how motivated Paul supporters are to actually get out and vote at their primary. A lot more depends upon gaining new Paul supporters. Historically, it takes around 35,000 votes to win a state primary, about the same number of people that donated to Paul's campaign earlier this month (spread over the entire country). Thats around 700 hard core Paul supporters per state. The polls reflect this as well, showing very low awareness of Paul in the general, likely to vote, public.
I'm not saying that Paul can't overcome the odds. Unfortunately, I think he is a lot deeper in the hole than many Paul supporters would like to believe. However, he is improving in voter awareness every day. His campaign finances will ensure that his message has the opportunity to be heard. The media has started to pick up on Paul a bit more in the last few days. They have also toned down the anti-Paul name calling, a bit. If his support continues to grow, who knows, he might actually win. Just don't forget how quickly Dean went from something to nothing. Fate can be very fickle.

I agree with you, I think its his momentum that will give him his best chance to get enough votes to place in the top 3 in most of the early states. As long as the momentum continues he has a contending chance throughout the entire primary season.

based on the contribution numbers and the general libertarian tilt of the early primary states, he has a good chance to build some strong momentum there with a strong showing in official elections.
it will be harder to marginalize his message if he scores in the top three in NH.

I'm not so sure also about how Paul will do in the primaries. While I think his core will certainly vote in high numbers, elections are not won by the motivated, rather by the masses who kinda-sorta know whats going on.
As I said in an older post, I see about 80% of the people at my polling places are at retirement age. I don't know what the national statistics are, but its interesting to note that the ron paul phenomenum is largely internet-born.
Old people both vote at higher rates and use the internet at lower rates, this would seem to be a bad sign for paul. Also how many people really give a shit? In my area we had 23% approx voter turnout recently, how many people are going to bother to educate themselves as to the best candidate for them in the primary?
I'm going to vote for Paul, and I think the primary numbers will surprise people, but I don't think he's going to make much of an impact numbers-wise.
