My Body Has "A Smell" and I Want To Get Rid Of It

Hey Shroomery =0)
In my Freshman year of high school a friend of mine revealed to me that I have a "smell". Apparently, it's not a bad smell (not like BO), but something like a musky/earthy type smell. Periodically throughout the years no one ever straight out mentioned it but I've definitely gotten hints that I still have this smell.
It's been something that has been cause for quite a bit embarrassment in certain situations, and the thought of it is pretty much constantly in the back of my head.
I shower once or twice daily and wash well with soap and shampoo. Brush my teeth twice a day. Wear plenty of deodorant.
Does anyone know what I can do to get rid of this? Anyone else with a "smell", maybe?
Thank you so much. This may sound dumb but it is a very significant issue in my life.

As a side note, my best friend once remarked, right after I had taken a shower and changed into clean clothes, that she could notice my smell.
So...it's not an issue of cleanliness.
I also don't eat garlicy things very often, but Mexican food is a large part of my diet. Not sure if that matters.
I don't sweat any more than normal either.

The first thing that came to mind was your diet. I read that if you eat a lot of something in excess then eventually it's going to be secreted through your pores.
My suggestion is (if you don't already) start eating a lot of fresh fruit and vegetables, and drink a lot of water.

This sounds very possible. I am going to start really upping the amount of water I drink.

Isn't that illegal?
Seriously, why not try really changing your diet up for a couple of weeks? Then you can at least rule that out.

That's past tense. Not very hard to believe. If I was under 18 I wouldn't have been stupid enough to let that slip up. Thanks anyway.
In fact, I just dug up something very amusing to me. Check this out... http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/4511921#4511921

I've moved from my parents house to my own place since I became aware of the smell. And, well, being a poor college student has most definitely changed my diet. So..I'm sort of thinking that's not it.
I have an idea that drinking a lot more water would help, though. I've never drank much water and usually only piss like twice a day. So, it's possibly due to dehydration, I guess.

I don't really have any advice, but would just like to note... I've had friends through the years who impart a certain smell. In one instance it was definitely caused by the laundry detergent his mom was buying.
Like you said... they didn't smell bad, just unmistakably one of a kind!

Well if it's not the diet it probably hormonal changes as someone suggested. For example, when my parents got into their sixties when I would come home to visit I noticed there was this musty, old person smell in the house. After a few years either I got used to it or they went back to neutral human odor. I think the same will probably happen to you. Until then spray on some foo-foo juice and you'll be good to go.

as said above, it has alot to do with your diet. more fresh fruits and veggies + more water intake will help greatly.
i also have a "smell" i eat very healthy and drink tons of water and tea. the smell is always there. its only bad first thing in the morning when i first start working and that first sweat of the day comes out. after that it is a very light smell. half of the time is is sweet with a light hint of vinegar (i drink apple cider vinegar daily), and sometimes it smells of garlic or other herbs, which i eat alot of.
i know what smell you speak of cakes, i smell it all the time at work. it MUST have something to do with the mexican food. because all of the mexicans i work with smell like what you explained.

Oh damn. I know that Mexican smell. I've been around a lot here in AZ.
No offense to any Mexicans at all...
I think I'll go with the water/fruits/veggies thing. I hate to give up my Mexican food. It's my faaaav. I'll cut down though...and maybe not get things that are so spicy.
Thanks again to everyone for your input.

Yeah I have been wearing Axe recently. Not sure how it's been working out because it is way too embarrassing a subject to discuss with even my closest friends.
I know it shouldn't be. But...it's just this weird thing that I can't talk about with people. It's pretty much the only thing I have low self esteem about. Took forever to work up the guts to post this thread.

Cakes,
I'm too tired to google it. But people who often smell bad/weird suffer from a certain genetic disorder. There are many different disorders that produce different odors. You are probably one of these people. Just be grateful you aren't one of those ones that smell like fish. That's gotta blow.

You could try running the shower as cold as you can take it after you're finished up washing. Do it for as long as it takes you to stop sweating.
If i don't run the bath cold it takes me ages to dry myself for all the sweat,, if i run it cold i'm dry after one going over with teh towel.
