Need to know if this is contaminated (good quality pics)

Just needed some advice on these 2 cakes. I am using a standard terrarium set up with perlite. I keep it on top of my fridge freezer which keeps the warmth between 22-26 as advised. I drilled holes in the lid of the terrarium as the 'Lets Grow Mushrooms' You tube video advised. This though as I found out a week into the birthing had caused the perlite to go dry as bone. I noticed that the cakes then started to get this grayish/blueish colouring as you can hopefully see on these pics. I did dunk the cakes in British Berky filtered water (high quality filter), unlike the 'Lets grow mushrooms' gentleman who used water from the faucet. My worries are the last time I got my first harvest (this is another cake I'm talking about now from weeks ago), I dunked the cake to inspire a good second harvest, but what I got was blue/green mold within 24 hours of the cake being back in the terrarium. Now, friends I have 3 baby shrooms appearing at the base of one of these cakes, and hopefully more to come. What say thee about these 2 cakes? After I realized the perlite was bone dry (about 5 days ago), I got a new lid for the terrarium, re-wet the perlite and dunked the cakes again. I now mist them daily and air the terrarium out twice a day! But are they O.K is the question, or should I toss them in the trays?? And, just thought I'd mention - I had no signs of dis-colouring before birthing them into a growing chamber that got dryer and dryer by the day for a whole week. I appreciate you reading my Essay!!

It just looks like bruising to me but I could most certainly be wrong.

It looks to me like they are bruising blue because your humidity level isn't high enough. You might want a second opinion from someone more experienced but I think they are just thirsty. Mist more often if your perlite is drying out to keep your humidity high.

I wanted to do an invirtro since I never had before. 3 WBS jars fully colonized exposed to light. They started to get that blueish color under the surface. 3 days later I realize its mold.
IDK if this helps you but know that blue is not always bruising

its not going to go beyond that. It loks like bruising to me but It might not be. Dont big deal it unless you plan on making a casing with it. Let the cake grow, let it pin and grow mushrooms. The mushrooms will be fine, safe to eat. If it is a mold then the cake is kicking its ass, crumbling it up to make a casing will allow the mold to kick the myceliums ass, This is of course if it is mold which I do not think it is.
As the cakes shrink and dry out due to mushrooms growth or low humidity the sharp edges of the verm will bruise the cake. This is probably what it is

That's bruising. Mold has a completely different presentation. I can almost see where your hand was when you picked up the cake. The top and bottom of the bluing corresponds to where your thumb and pinky finger would have been. Touching a cake often bruises it, as well as being too dry. RR
