Generally speaking, most TEK (pictorials) write-ups end up being the reference material for further questions after they've been posted. You'll get 100 posts asking about how and why substrate should be prepared this way or that and without at least a few different set's of similar pictorials on the topic there be nothing to refer back upon when asking the same question for the 99th time.

As for stickies on the top of the forums, it would require someone's full time attention to be constantly sifting through them so that outdated information could be removed as new more pertinent data came to light. In that sense it's almost like trying to put a moratorium on how a word is used in a living language.

I agree that it would be nice if the TEK's did include some background information regarding the theory behind "why" something was implemented this way or that, however ultimately it's the reader's obligation to understand what he's being shown. Just as, when reading a novel, you happen upon a word you don't know the onus is upon you to look it up and not the author to define it for you. Attempting to decipher it's meaning out of the context in which it used - in either case - is and always will be caveat emptor.

My pictorials are designed to lay the groundwork for reference material when answering posts and occasionally to spotlight some recent contraptioning I've designed...

it makes no sense why something like that irritates you. If this web site is that big of a part of your life then you are extremely pathetic and are bringing our country down, your taking up space. Why dont you go do something with your life like go to school or exercise or get a job. Some people do not even have ten minutes to spair because they arent lazy wimps. Big deal it isnt hurting you, you arent gonna die get over it.

Straight up... We aren't here to bash on people just because they have different reactions to posts. What kind of bland world would we live in if everyone was nice and 100% tolerant..

I think the admins should shutdown shroomery forums for a week to shift through the forums and delete the ones that need to be deleted that say the SAME shit over and over....save a lot of room?

Please don't think i am an asshole and wont help people, I will by all means, but if someone asks the same question in 3 different posts, and then has the audacity to ask again, you better believe i'll spread some tough love.

I enjoy helping people that help themselves, blood4blood is one of them, he's asked me lots of questions on monotubs, but, he's come with sensible questions that I can tell he's actually doing some research, not saying, TELL ME HOW TO DO THIS.

I am not good at candy coating things, and for that I will apologize, I wish I had RogerRabbits patience in this respect, that man is a saint, I however, would rather lash at you with a wet peice of salt soaked leather strap, until you learn on your own. Then when you show me you're trying, that's when i'll whip out the spoon.

Holy shit bro, now THAT'S a post count!

I can see some benefit to stickies IF people would read them. However, how many strain threads get created? For some reason, people just don't seem to see them up there. Much of what you're asking for in a sticky, is already at the top of the page. . . in a sticky.

^ Right on RR! Damn...I'd be luck to have ever written that much online...and that probably includes instant messaging!

Anyways, as a newcomer I'll put my two cents in to give this some perspective from the opposite end of the scale - that of the inexperienced newbie.

I think the site has pretty much all the answers already linked, posted, what-have-you as many people have already said. The top-bar with the 'Grow Mushrooms' type links are awesome - I spent the better part of a week sifting through those and other teks before even joining/posting. Oh, and when I joined I actually read the 'Read this or Severe consequences etc' sticky - awesome info for somone who has no experience yet!

Basically, I think the people who are asking questions of the undesireable types will continue to be perpetuated and replaced by others of a similar nature simply because humans are (a lot of the time) whingy, demanding, intolerant beings. That said, quite a few are caring, passionate, rescource-hunting individuals who know that reading and researching will tell you more than any set of questions can given an equivalent amount of time. So in conclusion, I think a madatory reading of the stickys may be a good idea - or even make it the default screen until your posts hit [>insert appropriate amount here<].

Cheers all - boingkster

You have no idea who I am, What I do, and what my job is...
When I teach at the University, I don't hand feed students the exam answers to their biology classes, or to their ISS classes.

please don't insult people in this way when you know nothing...
I am a professional athlete as well, so don't accuse people you don't know, of being sedentary.

I personally think direct personal attacks on the board, like this, are way worse then me telling you to USE THE FUCKING SEARCH ENGINE and type in "forum guidlines"

you have no foundation here to make these assumptions my friend.

I know you weren't directing your comment to me in general, but look at RR, he has a fucking life, a good one, he's not lazy, he might be an old ass man but he's definitely not lazy..

now,

the fact that you have the freedom to post stuff such as that, is great.

If no one was allowed to post off kilter, this place would be boring.

but dont go insulting people for having a high post count.
that's retarded.

First of all mister teacher you do not know how to read. I didn't insult people with high post amounts you idiot lol. I was not insulting everyone either. If you really have your life together as you claim and this website is really still that important to you then you missed a part of growing up and have some shit to work on buddy. You are growing shrooms while being a teacher, nice dude real professional thank god we have passionate people like you in professional positions, working with our kids. Oh you think what I am doing is worse than you saying use the fucking search engine? Explain the logic behind that please. Break it down into facts how this is true. oh your a professional athlete. Meet up with me please, lets have a little athletic competition. If you were doing all those things you wouldn't have time to come here all the time. Keep creating a hostile environment for new people coming to this drug website. Sounds like it is the only good thing you do, turn new people away from doing something that can seriously screw up their lives.
