Im going to guess its Coprinus Comatus though, I thought i'd check to make sure
Found this in a park near me, i didn't have my camera with me so i'll describe it (I took the cap home as it was spur of the moment) It stood about 6 inches tall near some bushes on the edge of the grass near a fence Habitat: On the ground alone, near some bushes Gills: Brown and black, very inky
Stem: white, with a veil, watery
Cap: the cap looks as if it is peeling at various parts and appears to have gills Spore print: black
Bruising: I didn't notice any
Location: Bay Area, CA
guitar pick is there for size reference
Here is a print after roughly a minute of waiting.
Sorry about the cap being wet, i hope that doesnt mess anything up

Interesting print, I assume it was made by the wet gills touching the paper.
Looks like Coprinus comatus or Coprinopsis atramentaria, hard to tell now. Its pretty obvious what it is when it is fresh, C. comatus looks like a big sprinkler head or something.

I looks like a mature shaggy mane to me. But coprinus is hard to ID whenever the caps turn inky. But thats my two cence. The upside of nobody knowing exactly what it is, is, that it won't really matter, because that thing is not going to be beckoned by society to do any work as food any time soon.
