I've never found a bluefoot more than 100 yards from flowing water. They are most definitely a riparian species. My range has really been limited this season due to lack of a car, so I have only been hunting one river in southern Ohio. Barring unforeseen catastrophes I should be a motorist again and will be able to hunt a wider territory next spring.
Bluefoot season is over, but chanterelle season is just beginning.

i wonder if bluefoots are still growing arround here(central North carolina)....anyone know?...
shit, I'v definetly been lookin. spent about 2-4 hours each day shroom hunting for the past week or so. I'v found/IDed a lot of cool mushrooms but no actives...kinda starting to get discouraged....havent even found any subbs yet. Then again, if i had a car i could drive anywhere i wanted and i'm sure i'd find some shrooms then...i know a lot of people who live on farms around here but i have no way to get there and no "good" reason for someone to give me a ride....to a lot of people, looking for shrooms isnt a good reason
anyway, what do y'all think my chances are of finding some cubes (or other actives) on a farm around here at this time of the year? (a farm with cows, of course)because i would walk 10 or 15 miles to one of them cow fields if it seems worth it;)

I imagine the season moves from south to north like with morels. You are further south than Ohio, so I think bluefoot has probably stopped fruiting in your area by now.

ah, well that sucks balls...do you know what the best time would be to look for them around here.....and also, would i have any luck looking for subbs and cubes right about now (i just want to make sure before i spend hours looking for shrooms that arent even in season in my area)
oh and BTW, how good is a caerulipes trip?...i mean are these considered "better" than other shrooms...like cubes and shit like that
what i'm trying to say is: are these really worth the trouble or are they no better than subbs........please tell me their better than subbs ....LOL

I take about 2 grams dried of the bluefoot. Cubes i will usually 3 grams. I think that any woodlover is better than a dunglover. Subbs i need about 4 or 5 grams dried for the same affects.
