Rye grain start bursting during the soak?
My grain is 10hrs in to the soak and I noticed alot of busted grains. it looks like something shot out of the grain.
Is this the bacterial endosperm hatching or something else.

Make sure you use cold water. Maybe its the quality of your grain. Size matters on how much they will soak before bursting. Tryi rinsing your grains half way through your soak, it helps, you'll see it in the water discarded.
You don't want more than 10% of your grains busted. Remember that if you simmer.

xD that would be the seeds germinating, rye grain is a seed you could grow a plant with those lolzz
the way you take the guesswork out of which seed to use when growing shrub is to soak two paper towels in water then place your pot seeds between them on a paper plate in a warm place, you end up with little seedlings bursting out of the seeds that can be planted the same as an ungerminated seed
as you're trying to grow mushrooms and not rye, you don't really want this to happen, try keeping your soaking jars in the fridge

I believe RR recommends using hot water during your prewash and when you fill your soak water. I have followed that and have not once had germinated grain, even waiting as long as 36 hours.

i'm not sure that the initial temp of the water is important hot water to rinse would be a good idea, hot water works best for rinsing anything incase you guys haven't noticed xD
generally more seeds germinate when incubated during germination, so lowering the temp during the soak would be ideal for lowering the amount of sprouters
anywhere below 60 but above 32 should give you next to no sprouts

"when growing shrub"

i'm not really up to date on RR's methods as i haven't watched his videos, i'm too cheap to buy em
i'm supposing the hot water should be extremely hot water, i'm also going to guess that this is to semi-sterilize the seeds preventing germination

maybe your rye is just great quality
i might suggest putting it in a pot and bringing it to a boil for 10 mins, then rinse well and soak
